Here's an example of "progressive rap" that uses a prog sample which should be pretty easy to identify if you're a devotee of the band. The MCs, Slug, Aesop Rock and MF Doom are among some of the most acclaimed in the underground and it's about video games too!

Alright, here's a beat I really love from the excellent producer Black Milk (not that crazy about the MC) and it is built around a sample from a legendary prog song. Not some prog-related Bowie type sample Snow Dog, a real prog band. Thing is, though everyone's heard this song, I think the sample is virtually unrecognisable. Can anyone get it?

Well maybe it was a bit much to expect people to remember the piano riff from Kate Bush's December Will Be Magic Again.
 
 
Seems like I've been stumping people a bit so here's one so easy it's redundant to guess- it's more to illustrate that yes, this band's been sampled too. Your kids may have been listening to classic prog acts all the time and never even knew it.

The lines are still open to place the sample in Cannibal Ox's Battle For Asgard.
But in the meantime, let's divert into the realm of prog that samples. Yes it happens.
A short time ago I posted Joe Budden's No Escape which samples Radiohead's Street Spirit. But some people don't realise that Radiohead's own hit, Karma Police, itself contained a sample from a very well known band. Without looking it up, can anyone give me the name of the band and song sampled in Karma Police?

Also agree. I only listen 10 sec., then abort the video. If I do not get it in that time I give up, and won't listen to it again. (Through this way I only recognized the Genesis and Renaissance sample.)
