And the cat appears to know something... I think it's blackmailing the dog.

The dog has his chew toy, I think he is worried the camera is a chew toy stealing device.

Pictures of pets I find a bit nauseating. They only mean something to the owner.

My daughter wants a kitten....do I let her have one?

If you have an aversion to pets them it's probably not a good idea.  If your daughter is mature enough to take complete care of the cat then why not?  The big downside to cats is that if they don't use the litter box, the pee is the most horrid thing you will ever smell.  But if you've ever stroked a cat and had it purr at you, you'd know what it's all about.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I know all about cats and dogs. I have owned them so you can't teach me anything.
My daughter is 20 and she would have to buy it and pay for everything. Clean up and feed it etc. It would be in out house though.

Probelms are

1. I am a keen bird watcher and feed birds

2. My wife detests cats

If the cat goes outside it should wear a bell because cats are very efficient at preying on birds, any bird who is a ground feeder will be had, a bell evens the playing field

Tropical fish then?  You can't really pet them, but they are cute.

This is my Bull Terrier mix, Abra. I rescued her from the local shelter, and she didn't have a name so I came up with Abra Cadogbra. Wink See what I did there? I got her after she had turned 2 and I've had her for about 6 months now. She's a real sweetie.

Bull terriers are awesome dogs, have you ever read any of Jonathan Carroll's books?  He seems to have a fascination with them.

I've heard the name but never read anything from him. Anything you'd recommend?

Hmm, I'm still trying to work my way through his works, but I'd definitely recommend Land of Laughs, it's an excellent book (in my opinion).

Cool, I'll check it out. I could count the number of novels I've actually finished on two hands. I desperately need to read a new book.
