Hi!
Considering the wealth of knowledge of you guys on here we thought it would be a good idea to get your thoughts and feelings on the first section of our new (planned) concept album. A little about us. We are an unsigned and unmanaged 4 piece from London and have been together for a couple of years. This project is fully self funded and is meant to be 3 pieces of music that will form the full album. At the moment we have run out of money to continue the piece so are looking to gain enough interest from people signing up via our website to then be able to approach labels and management to help us complete the project. We would consider this a piece of progressive rock but then you guys are more experienced to decide if it actually does fit that label. You can hear the first section here www.theinstituteofmodernlo It would be fantastic to hear your thoughts on the music. Thanks Kris |

Now checking your suite in your website ... fascinating one!
A long suite seasoned with thrilling & dramatic voices and symphonic sounds ... If you can contract some labels, please let us know. |

Thanks Damo, its so difficult to get any interest in a prog rock band concept album from labels in the UK!!! I think we've got a hard battle ahead of us. Rivertree thanks for your very kind words. Harmonium our name seems to divide opinion but we feel it kind of sums up the 'feel' of the project and our sound. Hope you like Project Aphrodite
Thanks all! Kris |

You could always sell your music digitally on bandcamp.com (I'm not affiliated with that website BTW) without paying anything, as long as you guys fund the recording sessions.
I'll give your stuff a listen now. Edit: Hey, sounds like the non-metal sections of Pain of Salvation mixed with Pink Floyd. I like it.

Hey Starhammer
Thanks for the great comments. The Pink Floyd and Pain of Salvation comparisons are great! Thanks!! As for putting this out the plan is that we need to get enough interest to approach management and labels to help us fund the next 2 sections (ideally 3 more sections) as we want to release the project as a whole. It feels wrong to release only the first part of a concept album. We'll keep on trying!! Kris |

Hi everyone, Tom from the band here, just to let you know that we followed your advice and the first EP in our insane trilogy is now available on Bandcamp. We re-recorded a lot of it and mixed it again, we progged it up by about 40%! To say thanks for the kind comments you can use the 40% discount code 'progarchives' , and here is the link to hear the whole EP free and download if you do so wish. http://theinstituteofmodernlove.bandcamp.com/
Right, I'm off to have some conversations about prog on here! Tom

Got the EP a day or two ago and I have to admit I'm a little bit obsessed with it. Easily one of the better modern progressive epics I've heard lately. Stunning stuff.

Thanks very much Damo, Van and Rivertree, the good feedback makes the (many!) hours of work worthwhile. It's a great novelty to think that there are people out there in the world listening to us! Evaluation purposes River? What do i need to do?
Cheers,
Tom
