Well, Santana is one of the durtiests guitar players in all time, and as far as the comments have been, if you judge Carlos by his last 10 years albums, he seems to be playing the same solo over and over again, just like judging Schon because of his Journey contribution.
 
Never get what is so great about Santana, really, having a signature sound (which is durty and slappy, awful for me) doesn't mean he is good... Half of his material is not written by himself and he used a lot of producers a composers to make any consistensy in his work...
 
Schon for me... and for a thousand miles...

Hmm... I´ve thought that I´m more or less expert in Rock Music,  I´m  listening and interesting about Rock almost 30 years. But I must to admit I don´t know absolutely anything about "Neal Schon", on the other hand "Santana" is an iconic person in and out of Prog Rock community, doubtless.
