Vampillia is a Japanese band that has released 2 full-length albums and an EP, each with its own unique sound. I really don't know enough about the band to give a short biography, but I'm sure someone will enjoy their music. It undoubtedly progressive, sometimes sounding like Godspeed You! Black Emperor, sometimes like Unexpect, sometimes like LITE.

Actually, I think avant-prog would be the best genre for this.

For a minute I thought someone was suggesting Vompatti for Eclectic Prog.

No, I think Vompatti should go to Prog Electronic.

The first track sounded like avant-prog and the second like post-rock... I'll have to check more to understand what they're up to.
I see there are only four short samples on MySpace, I'll look up their highest rated album, I'm curious now. Edited by harmonium.ro - July 11 2011 at 05:32 |

I believe they were evaluated by the avant team.

I've heard the full album and it's full-blown post-rock; interesting how the ZART heard the same album but didn't think of post-rock.
I took the suggestion to the team. |

Their most recent album kind of sounds like Unexpect. It's the polar opposite of their Alchemic Heart album; heavy and symphonic songs with miniature lengths.

Isn't Alchemic Heart the latest? I found it as an album from 2011.

That, and another album called Rule the World/Deathtiny Land was also released this year.

And added: Vampillia.
Well you don't say... Thanks for exposing us to this excellent band and for preparing the addition. Can you also add the other album, please? I can't find it. |
