Dream Theater and Rush co-headline tour? What???

Anyway, it's no big deal. Rush is an established act, and if they changed, who cares? They've released 18 albums already.

I agree, they should. Let's see some bands that have been around for 10 years or less get some of the spotlight.

Only change that will occur is that Rush used to open shows with the Three Stooges Theme.  They will now open shows with a *beep beep* and a shout out to Acme and Wil E. Coyote.

actually seems to me that both PT and Opeth under Roadrunner got more freedom, becoming more experimental and unconventional (The Incident, Watershed). if Rush take similar direction I would be happy.

It is not a radical change, Atlantic and Roadrunner are related by Warner Music Group. Antlantic Records group is Roadrunner's US distributor. It's a marketing move because we can expect that Roadrunner will promote more effectively the band than Atlantic. Is this band need more promotion?

I really don't think anything is really going to change.  They (Rush) will write the music they want to write and play the concerts the way they want to.

If a label decides to release a best of or some compilation, I guess that is up to them but I really don't see anyone telling Rush they need to do this or that.

That's a really weird piece of news. Rush probably don't need to be on a major label anymore but on the bright side this will mean that the album should be an affordable price.

Roadrunner obviously won't be able to change Rush. The idea a band as established as Rush could be altered by a new contract is ridiculous.

That said I do hate Roadrunner with a passion.

Yeah, I know people are mostly joking, but seriously, Rush could go anywhere, nobody can tell them what to do.
