^ Unfortunately we don't have a category "Original album", if you mean this. For example this one, Élö Omega (Ω IV), fits perfectly - it's live but contains new, previously unreleased songs.
There are also albums recorded partly live, partly in studio (PF "Ummagumma", Manfred Mann's "Watch" etc) usually placed in Studio albums. Let's operate with what we have. If it's recorded in studio, it's a studio album. If it's recorded live, it's live. That's all.

While I was updating the Snow Goose page took the initiative to change the cover to the original one (without the later imposed 'Music inspired by...").
Do you agree , or else do you think I did wrong, being that people is more used to the later one (curiously on the recent re-recording the band recovered the simpler title)? http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=329 |

According to discogs, the first version mentioned "inspired by...": http://https://www.discogs.com/Camel-The-Snow-Goose/release/3745098 Did "uninspired" cover exist? Was it earlier than the referred LP? If yes, please give us the link. If no, please bring the inspiration back. Edited by NotAProghead - April 26 2016 at 09:08 |

"The Janus release of The Snow Goose features story notes on the back cover. it also doesn't have the "music inspired by" subtitle. The bands name is printed in pink letters. I believe this the earliest release of the album" in Ofir Zwebner webpage "Skylines" linked from CamelProductions Official |

^ And done, thanks for the help
In fact Europe April '75 and North Am. July (remains the oddity of a cover out-dated being even so released) |

http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=51957 http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=51960 These two albums were submitted under John Zorn, although the whole rest of the Book of Angels series is filed here under Masada (except for particular cases in which are albums played by artists already in the archives like Pat Metheny, Secret Chiefs 3 or Medeski, Martin & Wood). Shouldn't the same be done here as well?

Steve Hughes - "Once We Were Part 1": http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=51907.
Album is being released on 2nd May, but already exists on the site with an error (probably just a slip of concentration when typing in the info) in the roles played by the personnel contributing to the album. Keith Winter is actually a guitarist, not a drummer. If you could be so kind as to fix this for me...?? Thanks guys! For anyone interested, here is a trailer/teaser video for the album: The debut "Tales From The Silent Ocean" from last year was an absolute cracker, and this should be a good un too. Part two will follow sometime towards the end of the year. Edit: For some reason my hyperlink had stopped working - a %20 white space character had somehow been added - the link is now fixed again.

^ David, thanks for your care but incomplete information won't do - could you please provide full (corrected) credits so we can do the update ? |

^ Thanks for the reply Jose. The credits as they are now are all correct except that Keith Winter plays guitar, not drums, on the album. Just one word needs changing.
Edit: If you really need to see what the credits should look like then: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Line-up / Musicians - Steve Hughes / drums, bass, percussion, keyboards, vocals, guitar With: - Keith Winter / guitar - Dec Burke / guitar, keyboards, vocals - Alex Tsentides / bass - Maciej Zolnowski / violin - Angie Hughes / vocals - Katja Piel / vocals ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've changed the upper case initial letters of all the instruments to lower case too, as I believe that is the preferred format for these on PA. ^ Thanks Jose. You rock even more for actually investigating the album details further. I was just passing on a message I received that the info regarding Keith Winter's role on the record was wrong...I wasn't told there were missing contributors too, so I didn't take matters any further myself.
Glad you like the music!

Wrong translation of this band's name, it's "house of the machines" and not "house of wonders".

I don't see anywhere that the band name is Sinatlis ... I see "The Light Year", I don't understand why some people are doing whatever the hell they want and change a band's name or post it in the wrong genre and no one gives a damn? the other example I brought up before http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=4191 the name of the band is Josh & Co. LTD and not Bryan Josh and the stupid excuse you wrote me back is still a stupid excuse! I have more examples but I guess I'm wasting my time...

It's written in the band's BIO. It's the Georgian name of the band which was translated into English for that album release. Also the band's myspace page contains the original name in the URL: https://myspace.com/sinatlistselitsadi |

That album and the 2010 live album, I do understand that it's the bands name in their country, but there is a reason they changed it on the newer albums to English, and last I checked this is an English web site! do you want me to bring you all the names that are in their countries are different then here? and what about cut and dry Josh & Co. LTD? is that a translation from what?

There are many examples of bands which translated their name for the international market. Modry Efekt is the first that comes to my mind. The same happens for albums like Bo Hansson's Sagan Om Ringen, but in this case the English version Lord of the Rings was a reprint two years after the original release and with a different cover sleeve, so it has two separate entries. It's my opinion, but I'm not an admin, that we should stick to original names whenever possible. For Josh, I think it's a case of "visibility". I wouldn't likely check a Josh & co LTD album but I know who Bryan Josh is. Some artists like changing their names from a release to another: Franco Battiato's last album is released as Joe Patti's Experimental Group which I actually added to the site. This is another though case. For the PA policies I think the final decision goes to the evaluation teams.
