I stumbled upon this topic in the Unsigned Bands forum today: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=73805, where the band were introduced to us by Windwaker on 04th December 2010.  DamoXt7942 seemed quite impressed by the samples provided at the time (though only one of the four links given still works, the others have since been taken down by the band), and I remembered hearing some of their stuff back in September this year, which I was quite impressed with.

From their facebook account: www.facebook.com/helicopria (under the 'info' tab):

"Helicopria is a 4-piece prog rock band, influenced by groups like The Mars Volta, Bjork and RX Bandits. With members from all over the world, Helicopria's sound merges the best of a variety of influences to create something powerful and unyielding. With a mix of jaw-dropping technical musicality, catchy melodies, and a very personable and energetic live show, Helicopria is pushing boundaries and re-defining the term "prog rock".

Other influences are quoted as Circa Survive, Lark, The Bad Plus, D'Angelo, John Frusciante, & Porcupine Tree.

They released a seven track self-titled EP, firstly over in Istanbul back in June (having had a very successful recent tour there), and then in the US in September this year.

It can be downloaded free from bandcamp.com: http://helicopria.bandcamp.com/

Other links where their music can be streamed:

Seems like a decent shout for crossover to me - they remind me a bit of Panic Room, only without the keyboards.

Edit: One bad link removed, and the YouTube vids - which were no longer available.

Sounds like a fine candidate for crossover. I'll alert the team.

Here are some more YouTube vids of studio versions of stuff from the EP, and one of them playing on Turkish TV during their tour over there earlier this year:

Edit: All tubes have now been removed from YouTube, so I've deleted the embedded links.
