Two female artists I've grown to have a huge respect and appreciation for this year, two beautiful women, two different eras and very different artistic outputs. Who do you enjoy more?

Singing wise, strictly an acquired taste but like Kate Bush a bit more. As a composer, Kate Bush by a long way, my favourite female rock/pop songwriter.

Kate Bush. Joanna Newsom sounds very nice but my attempts to really get into her music have failed so far.

Who do I enjoy more?  Kate Bush, I have no Newsom.  Maybe I'll give her a try sometime but now is not the time.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Both are brilliant. I can listen to Kate all day, but sometimes grow tired of Joannas voice really fast. But in concert she's one of the best artists I've ever heard. Still I vote for Kate. Maybe I'd think differently in ten years.

Joanna. They both have those childish high-pitched girly voices, and for some reason I can't stand Kate's voice.
