So I'm trying to get enough so I can review his albums and I also need help with that... haha Thanks again:)

A very warm welcome. Rob is an invaluable member here, so it is really nice to see you come along for the ride.

As far as expanding horizons, how about looking at the top albums of, say, the past couple of years on the site. Have a look through the reviews from collaborators, and see what you fancy?

... but you have to be careful. You have to have to have to have to stick with the rules and guidelines so as not to get dinged by the admins. Start with reviewing something that you have really liked. If you do get dinged, ... everyone makes mistakes at first, I think.

Did you get dinged?  Wink

I've only started submitting reviews myself - what sort of common mistake might one make to get dinged?

I don't know if that qualifies as a mistake, but I certainly got dinged for writing a poor review on Can's Future Days.

I read it - it was actually an excellent review (never mind the fact that it's my favorite album of all time Unhappy), but you must have gotten dinged for applying your own rating system.  If you'd just left that last part out, I'll bet it would have passed muster just fine.  Otherwise, very well done in my opinion.

How do you not get "dinged"? lol
I would never cheat in a relationship...
That would require TWO people finding me attractive.
..I can barely find one.

Well, for starters, ... don't judge anything PA has initiated LOL . Secondly, try not to argue too hard with anyone and don't attack anyone's opinion. I found it a good idea to just yield.

On a sidenote (you won't get dinged, but you may be embarrassed):
Try not to ask any questions the answers on which you can find yourself; the collaborators and admins are very sensitive about this issue Smile . Also, if you are really lost, but to others the answer may seem to be obvious, try to be as specific in your questions as possible. I failed to do so in my "Obscure Prog Facts thread disappeared" thread, and it was closed before I had an opportunity to make some things clear. Better yet, if you have a question, send a PM, don't start a thread. Other than that, you can start polls and stuff like that ... but they have to be fun Big smile .

:) Yeah... I like my embarrassment in small doses rather than in large doses any day haha And if I wanted to argue and judge someone's opinion all I have to do is walk into the living room...Just kidding but thanks for the help anything else?

I hope everyone is treating sis nicely.  Wink

I know you like The Decemberists (didn't see them mentioned).  I think you'd probably like Porcupine Tree (Lightbulb Sun comes to mind).  I know for a fact you would dig dredg (El Cielo and Catch Without Arms)- brilliant melodies and lyrics there.

And, of course, you have me as a resource.  Wink  Tasha thinks my CD cabinet is out of control as it is.

I think you need Kind of Blue.  Not rock, but the greatest jazz album ever written.

I think I have two copies of it, actually.  Ermm

Oh, and since you play piano, Herbie Hancock should be on your list.  Maiden Voyage...mmm....
