 Topic: Have You Seen Your Favorite Prog Artist Live?

Thought this might be interesting. Have you seen your favorite prog artist/group live in concert? If so, where and when, and how many times? Some of us have been lucky in this respect, and some not. My favorite prog artist is Triumvirat, and i have never seen them live, because i did not discover them until 1985, five years after they split, and stopped recording. Around 2002, i was all geared up to see and hear new things from them, as they were slated to release a new album, "The Web-Site Story" , with an accompanying tour, but these plans never materialised, even though the album was recorded.

Yes I have.  <--- *smug grin*
Pink Floyd - first time in 1972 at the Wembley Empire Pool - many times since, including The Wall.
Peter Gabriel - first solo tour and every tour after that through the 70s and 80s and recently at Womad.
The Enid - many times in the late 70s and just recently in a town near where I live.
Tangerine Dream - just the once on the tour that resulted in the best electronic live album ever Ricochet.
/edit...never seen, but want to as they also number as "my favourites":
Opeth, Pain Of Salvation and The Dear Hunter.

Never thought it would happen, but I got to see Magma in 1999, at Prog Fest. I never would have dreamed that Vander would revive the band, but he did, and not only was it just as good as it used to be, he kept it going and it still thrives to this day.

Really nice thread (  ), and I'm pleased to say the answer is yes.
Marillion are my favourite band, and I have seen them many times now, starting off at The Marquee just as Market Square Heroes was released. I'm off again to see them in Cardiff this September, this time with my son in tow for his first ever gig 
I've seen Gabriel & Genesis about six times each, plus Gabriel together with Genesis at Milton Keynes Bowl for Six Of The Best, which was one hell of an experience, not least of all for being the wettest I've been in my life.
Tull many a time, plus Yes, who were always magical to me.
Many more I could bore people with, but, to close, my only real regret is that I never saw either Supertramp or King Crimson live. For the latter, I wanted to see them in London in 2000, but couldn't, as I had to take exams for my Inspector course at work the following day in London. Bloody government! 
EDIT: Forgot The Wall at Earls Court - superb!

It's a tricky question because my choices for favourite bands are modeled by the live experiences I've had.
My list: Magma (3 times), Tortoise (1), GY!BE (1), Jaga Jazzist (2), The Mars Volta (1; rubbish sound, not a great experience over-all), Kayo Dot (1; another unsuccessful experience, two band members were prevented from entering the UK, it ended with Toby playing Tartar Lamb stuff), byron (6 times at least) and PT (1; only band in this list that I like more in studio than on stage). Would like to see: The Flaming Lips, Mew, Explosions In The Sky, Sigur Ros, Motorpsycho and others. Will be seeing Radiohead in October.
Too late for Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Genesis and such bands.

Yes. I have seen Rush live just about every tour since Presto. I just bought my tickets for the 2012 tour yesterday.

They could at least send you the live DVD they're releasing these days. If not, I'm gonna hunt them down and call them unprofessional.

Pink Floyd - 76 Dark Side of the Moon Tour (they also did most of Wish You Were Here before it was released)
Genesis - 78 And Then There Were Three Tour (with Max Webster and Brand X as opening acts)
ELP - 78 or 79 Works Tour (with Journey opening)
Peter Gabriel - first solo tour and again in 2009
Brand X - 78 and 79
UK - last concert of tour with original line-up (Saga as opening act)
Zappa - 79 with Adrian Belew, Eddie Jobson and Terry Bozio
Gentle Giant - twice, Interview and Missing Piece tours

ELP - (Black Moon tour 1992) and High Voltage a few years ago.
IQ - about 4 times including one of my all time favourite gigs at the Astoria on the Subterannea tour
Yes - about 5 times ,best was at Hammersmith Apollo with the orchestra
Genesis - never  Rush - once, the 30 anniversary tour
Muse - a couple of times ,one was at Wembley Stadium
Porcupine Tree - a couple of times ,best was at The Astoria when they previewed FOABP
Tangerine Dream - Once at Shepherds Busih Empire .Good gig.
Magenta - About 4 times and always brilliant

The answer is yes and no I'm afraid. I have seen Genesis 3 times but never with PG or Hackett for that matter. I have never seen Gong but I have seen Daevid Allen with The Here and Now Band. I have seen Marillion twice, both with Fish in 1982. And I saw The Wall at Earls Court first time around.
However, I haven't seen Tangerine Dream or any Krautrock.
I have seen Talk Talk though  |

I've seen most of my favourite prog bands...................but............unfortunately I was still at school when the whole movement was in its pomp, and only got to see the later incarnations, so missed Dark Side of the Moon , Close To The Edge, Selling England, Songs From The Wood tours...and the list goes on ...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Some of my other fave prog artists i have not seen, either Passport Colosseum Wallenstein Dirk Steffens Dzyan Brainstorm not surprising, really, as like with Triumvirat, i did not discover them until way past their hay day, and my tastes go mainly for groups that are European, and a little off the beaten track, and i have lived my entire life in Ontario, Canada (though have visited Quebec and the US) Judging from a lot of the posts here, you guys have been really lucky! No doubt some memories to cherish
