I got A Little Man and On Land on the albums being rereleased, really enjoying both of them, slightly ahead of Sing To God for me.

"A Little Man And A House And The Whole World Window" is my personal favorite, though I have yet to hear "Heaven Born And Ever Bright" and "Guns". I would personally recommend "On Land And In The Sea", which was the first album that made me truly like them. "Sing To God" is another good choice.

On Land and in the Sea is a nice midway point between what I've always viewed as the two main Cardiacs phases (though each album definitely has its own personality). As people have said though, buy everything they've done and everything from any band vaguely related to them, and at once become enlightened. I used to think Guns was weak, but after a while it's really grown on me and the whole Americana vibe on it works pretty well. The Garage Concerts are great for their new arrangements of very early material which is otherwise only available on abysmal quality cassette tape recordings.
In particular, I think The Display Team are a really fantastic Cardiacs-esque band. Drones is an amazing album.

Well, now that I have an appreciation for Sing to God, I think I will be able to listen to A Little Man... with more open ears.

R.E.S. is (one of?) their best song(s) in my opinion.

I tried A Little Man... a couple times and was never able to get into it; it just sounded silly, annoying, and trite to my ears. But right now I'm listening to Sing to God and enjoying it immensely. I've always wanted to like them, but it seems that they're just starting to click with me.
Looking forward to listening to the rest of them! I think I'll try A Little Man... again next.

Trust me if knew I'd be so much happier. He's recovering and all... But recoveries from stuff like strokes is slow... And I assume it'll be impossible to recover completely. I'm really not sure about the future of cardiacs :(

I might buy the Itunes download (even though I think $10 is a bit expensive for just files on my computer), because it helps Tim in his recovery. What exactly is the situation with that, anyhow? |

Well right now, the physical products aren't available, like, at all. Even used. I've been looking for a while, believe me. Occasionally you see some of the CDs popping up for $80 or so.

Hmmm ... I have family who like to give me Itunes giftcards for birthdays and Christmases. Maybe I'll get some Cardiacs... I'm a physical product guy, though. I can't display downloads on my shelf!!! |

Only place to get any of their material now which actually benefits the band and good ol' Timmy himself is iTunes at the moment. Once they're available on CD again, I am going to re-buy the entire catalog, but for now I've got myself some nice, shiny iTunes files to tide me over. |
