Get them chronologically after SiT1&2, Destined Solitaire and Mammoth are also great albums. From there you can get their most recent, and controversial, The Void, or explore their earlier albums. I like The Sane Day, it's a little bloated, but good, and unfortunately, I haven't heard their debut album yet.

I read an interview with Rikard yesterday, and he revealed that Beardfish's new album is finished, and is being recorded in December/Janurary, so it may be completed already. He said a June release date is what the record company is pushing for. I don't know where the link is, but it may be on the band's web site.

I's start with Sleeping In Traffic parts 1 and 2.....the later albums have a heavier edge with  prog metal overtones.

Oh, what a wonderful thing! A Beaedfish thread.
I listened all their albums, this is a great band.Peefect and intelligent musicians, so many ideas. A band very special.
Personally I love "Sleeping in The Traffic Parte One/Two" surely 2 masterpiece of ours days. The problem si that I don't like other albums, cetrainly less than this two. This coulb be not popular but I don't like metal sound... Anyhow unique band...

Last time I listened to The Void, I really enjoyed it. It's a grower.

Geekfreak, you can't really go wrong with any of their albums.

`Mammoth' would probably be a pretty easy place to start. They've got better albums, though.

Even `The Void' is terrific, despite the thought that it's a little heavier.

Don't be afraid of the 10 or 15 seconds of growled vocals on it that seems to put some people off the album altogether!

I don't find either of those lyrical excerpts to be silly.

Songs like South of the Border and Cashflow ruin SIT2.

You reckon?

"A THOUSAND NAKED BODIES IN A PIT OF FLESH.... f**kING!! f**king? f**king."

"Teach me as you would a DOG."

And in the same song, where he faux-raps. If anything I find DS to be their most humorous and jovial in general style & delivery, even if that's used to present serious themes.

Not that I find any of that a problem, DS is my favourite Beardfish album, I just think it may not be the best or easiest introduction to them, though I guess that depends on the person.

Holy god, relax with the emoticons LOL

Start with Destined Solitaire. It's a great album, my favorite, that has plenty of styles. Doesn't get silly like some of their other material.

I just read Rikard's note above regarding 'Ludvig and Sverker' and it just brings this song to a whole new level of emotion.
My only gripe with 'The Void' is how they've presented it - that hideous cover photo - it just baffles me.  I wasn't going to get this album because of it, and then I get a batch of vinyl from Syn Phonic and Walker has accidentally slipped a copy into the lot.  I mentioned the mistake to him and he had no clue he did it........I gave it a listen, it kicked me in the guts, I forwarded 20 bucks to Greg and was quite pleased the mishap took place !!
Fantastic album.

Beardfish is my favorite band currently, almost entirely on the strength of Destined Solitaire.  That album just hit me at the right time in all the right ways for me.

The rest of their catalog is good to great for me.  The Void is half great, though I admittedly can enjoy the 3 "heavy" tracks when I'm in the right mood.  I found them terribly disappointing initially, but they are actually quite well done and the energy the exude is impressive.  I hesitate to call them "metal", since they still are infused with that 70's vibe Beardfish just seems to do so well.

Traffic Part 2 I love, but for some reason I find the title track just "good", rather than great.  Still good enough that it's probably my second favorite Beardfish album.

I think The Void is passable at best, but I like Beardfish a lot. Traffic Pt 2 is the best post-70's 70's-sounding prog album that I've heard.
