With a little help from my friends...
Il Segno Del Comando-- The Green Face ( A great funky/gothic album recommended by my friend, Michael (Aussie-Byrd-Brother. Thanks mate.) Seconds Before Landing-- The Great Discipline ( Ambient, Spacey Floyd like sound in combination with sorry one some math rock stylizations of Kevin Moore. Thank you, David (Guldbamsen) for this recommendation. The Beatles--Sargent Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band ( I get by with a little help from my friends, indeed. ) Black Sabbath--Past Lives disc 1&2---In Honor of former friend and PA member Dennis (The.Crimson.King) Pallas---Beat The Drum ( A beautiful album. Through and through) Ozric Tentacles--Paper Monkey's (still don't mind this album.) |

Heh well he sent me one as well, even though I told him it'd probably take some time before I got around to an actual review. He's such a nice fellow. I was actually expecting something completely different tbh. I thought it would be this mad counterpointing Henry Cowish rock with screeching pirouetting AREA like vocals, and what I found in stead was a beautiful classical laden harp adventure with snippets of folk. There's a softness and frailty there that genuinely surprised me.

Dave, how are you finding that one? Impossibly challanging, and sounds like nothing else! I'm glad to see so many positive things being said about it. Dear Claudio Milano sent me a copy to review, and I've been taking FAAAAAAR too long to put my words together. I'm quite embarrased really. Edited by Aussie-Byrd-Brother - February 11 2014 at 18:40 |

Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions, will keep them in mind! When I post the Novela review, you'll have to see if that's the one you've got! Distillerie Di Malto - aka `The Italian Prog Album Everyone Is Talking About and Owns Except Me'! Somehow that title eluded my purchases last year, but I've got it ready to go in my next Synphonic Records order. I don't know how it slipped past my notice in the first place! Well, enough to you have raved about it, so I can't wait to hear it! |

I have the first Outer Limits album but honestly I haven't gave it much attention, and it's been a few years since I did play it, I actually can't remember how it's like. Same goes for Novela, I have one of their albums but can't remember it. I'm glad you like Ain Soph, I only have their two first albums. The first album A Story Of Mysterious Forest is more fusiony than Hat And Field, it still has symphonic elements but definitely more of a fusion album, so if you like that direction you might dig that one as well, personally I prefer the second. Michael do you know Distillerie Di Malto? I'm sure you heard the name lately in the den. Being the Italian fetishist that you are I don't think you should let them slip under your radar man. |
