Wow, Anima Morte! Great band, I own both those albums but I really prefer "Face the Sea of Darkness", that one has lots of extremely interesting ideas and sounds. Great to see someone else listening to them :D Unfortunately they seem to have disappeared from the face of the earth after "The Nightmare..." no shows, no albums, no updates...

Josef, I love both those Anima Morte albums, I like the second one a bit more, but seriously, they're both superb! Both are totally essential to me! I listen to `The Nightmare...' constantly while I'm at work! What a shame, that band has so much potential. They really should have contacted Goblin and offered their services for some support slots on their current tour, the two bands would perfectly compliment eachother!

Oops never mind, I just double-checked their facebook page and I obviously missed their update. They are writing their third album at the moment, never heard of any shows though... maybe they prefer to stay in the studio ^^

We're you able to play both acts of Alchemy back to back? Also. Can't seem to get a copy of ANGLAGÄRD's latest. How is it? Does it hold a candle to Hybris?

I absolutely love the super slowed down version of "The Enemy Smacks" on this. And on the video side, during the final moments when death-masked-and-cloaked Peter pulls back his sleeve to reveal the rope still tied on his upper arm searching for a vein...wow...my all time fave IQ moment

Does it hold a candle to Hybris? | I play it back to back all the time now, Professor Jagman! I should be posting a review of it over the next few days, you inspired me with yours, my friend! Now, as for my opinion on the Anglagard newie, here's some discussions that RichardH and I had over it a few days ago on a thread called `Anglagard Discussions' in the Appreciation section.

I've found the latest album a lot tougher to listen to than Hybris. I have to give them the benefit of the doubt and persevere if only because the level of musicianship is the very highest. I need more time to 'get it' perhaps. | Sadly, as much as it's still rather good, for me the latest one is not a patch on the previous two. It doesn't have that sense of flow, the constant reprises that the first two albums have. Strangely, I also get quite sick of it by about the half way point and rarely hear the album all the way through to the end. It's noisy, fragmented and abrasive, too many little sections and ideas that don't really form together too well. But...it's certainly not a case of a band running out of ideas. Just a different approach than before, experimenting, and definately not merely repeating themselves. Guess I admire it more than actually like it. I also noticed that, personally for me, I can think of endless other fairly recent instrumental albums that wipe the floor with it. | I might add that there is ENDLESS rave reviews for it, so don't let me put you off it!
