Michael, I have that one and really enjoyed listening to it but I haven't really investigated it fully, it is quite impressive I think. What do you think of it?

Probably one of my favourite modern albums. I think I voted it my number 1 album of 2011 if I recall. Instrumental albums don't come any finer. You know, I think it's kind of along the lines of Anglagard in some ways, but DAMN I feel it wiped the floor with the most recent Anglagard album. Superior in every way!

Space Art - s/t (Michael, do you know this album? It's a nice electronic album with Jean-Michel Jarre and Vangelis influences )

Awesome, Sagi! I'll be honest, I don't listen to it all the time (and it's hard at work to hear all the subtle quiet moments), but whenever I do it really moves me. The live DVD that came with the CD is superb as well! Sam, I don't know that Space Art album, I shall investigate!

BTW Michael I've just caught your review of Druckfarben, man I was blown away by their debut and so got their second album when it came out, but to be honest I was quite disappointed. I think it's much more technical and cold than the first album, I feel it lacks all the emotion that made the debut such a special album, especially in the vocal department. Are you by any chance familiar with the debut??

I played it on their website at the time it first came out, but that was it. To be honest, I was now likely going to go back and buy the CD of it sometime very soon. Have you spun the new one much yet? When I first got it, on the first few spins I was pretty underwhelmed. But sure enough, playing it over and over, really committing to listening to it carefully, worked wonders for me! Perhaps don't judge it too much from the first few spins!

I started listening to it a few times and stopped half way, I think I've listened to the whole thing once or twice. Don't get me wrong I know the musicians are superb, the playing is really good and professional but I guess I was just expecting them to go in a different road, of course I haven't gave up on this album that's for sure.

Totally understand, Sagi! You know, I sometimes leave albums for quite a while, then try approaching them with fresh ears later on....sometimes years later in a few cases! When I first started getting into prog, I used to sell albums that I didn't get into right away. Now I just put them away on the shelf and eventually returned to them. In my haste in those early days, I got rid of some amazing LP's/CD's that I still kick myself over. Grobschnitt's `Solar Music Live' (why the F**K did I get rid of that one?!?! ) is one that still haunts me...

^ I know what you mean, but regarding to prog I always kept the albums I didn't like at first. Of course there are many albums I got into years after first listening.
Yesterday's music...
Kultivator - Barndomens Stigar Comus - S/T Matraz - Gritare Mezquita - Recuerdos... Schicke, Furhs & Frohling - Sunburst The Box - D'Apres Le Horla De Maupassant Umphrey's Mcgee - Mantis Siddhartha - A Trip To Innerself

Schicke, Furhs & Frohling - Sunburst | Yes, excatly, that's the lesson I've learned. And ironically one of the LP's I ditched very early on was that Schicke Fuhrs & Frohling related `Ammerland'...
