Three from recent reviews, one never to be found on prog archives:

Druckfarben.
I tried telling a friend of mine about how great that band is. We couldn't make it past the fact he was laughing so hard ... all because he thought I said "Drunk and Fartin". Good band. Unfortunate name.

Rain Tree Crow.  Who knew there was anything but prog metal in the 90s. Hmmm. A welcomed alternative.

Winger. Better Days Comin. Yeah, yeah, I know. But, how many of you followed Kip through his 4 solo albums. Or the fact he's studied classical music with some damn fine teachers. Even wrote some very nice symphonic pieces. For the prog rockers check out the song off the new album called Tin Soldiers. Not bad.

...and finally, of all places, at the library I found Aphrodite's Child 666. A lot of people either loved it or hated it. I thought it was good fun. Very creative concept and the sound engineering (for the time) even got some drum sounds I think I liked better then Led Zep. Battle of the Locusts and Do It, in particular, has some pounding drums. Some reviewers said it was way out there. I dunno. I grew up on WEEN's The Pod and Hell WEEN Satan. Now that's way the s*#t out there!

Honestly, a track like `Don't Go Away' really touches my heart!

And `Songbird' off `Heathen Chemistry' was kind of a default-song for an ex-girlfriend of mine and I. Some happy memories in there, for sure.

Yeah I agree, it's pretty decent rock music....I didn't check out Oasis for  a long time because people seemed pretty uncomplimentary, but I like it.  Smile

I think a lot of people just took notice of the obnoxious interviews and personalities the Gallagher boys gave the press (and they totally knew how to play that game!), but in the end they were a pretty strong rock band, nothing more and nothng less.

And I remember reading one of those interviews a long time ago....it was a pretty long diatribe by the singer.....he seemed like he'd be a pain in the ass to work with, but he was also direct and blunt, and pretty funnyLOL

Oh, no doubt the two brothers were under the complete delusion that they were in the greatest band in the history of the world, and they not only believed their own bullsh*t, but totally knew how to `play the game' and offer outrageous `quotes' and headlines!

Actually, Jim, do a search into Oasis quotes, and there is comedy gold in heaps of them!

Some choice Liam quotes, Jim!

On Keith Richards and George Harrison:

“They're jealous and senile and not getting enough f*cking meat pies.”

On his brother Noel:

"I like Noel outside the band. Human Noel – that’s my brother – I f*cking adore him and I’d do anything for him. But the geezer that’s in this f**king business, he’s one of the biggest cocks in the universe.”
