Sam I'm so glad you checked that one out and also liked it, it's such a shame not having more people checking out this incredible band since they are so progressive, innovative and such amazing musicians.
Actually this album is quite one of a kind, please check out their previous album The American Standard, it's much more on the rockier side than on the experimental but still very very progy, man these guys can play!!

Ok so today...

Modry Efekt - Coniunctio
Kaukasus - I
Seven Impale - City Of The Sun
Panna Fredda - Uno
Lizards Exist - S/T
Goblin - Roller
Cabezas De Cera - S/T

I will, thanks Thumbs Up

What do you think of that Modry Efekt album?

Spinning the Lizards again, I see Wink
Well it's not my favourite Modry album and it's really different than anything else they did, very orchestrated jazz rock experimental album but highly enjoyable, I was always really surprised an album like this came out in 1970 and not from england. I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes this direction in prog.

And yes great job on your Lizards addition, awesome album no doubt about it!

^ if you start your Czechoslovakian jazz fusion journey with the Coinuncio, it should eventually lead your inquisitive mind to Jazz-Q and Energit, and hopefully to Jiri Stivin .. I wonder how you would classify this kind of music (other than incredible StarStarStarStarStar):

You say that Vangelis album is cool? I know someone who's selling that one and it's not very easy to find around here, I think I'll buy it Smile

How was Pawn Hearts this time? Ermm

Yes, 'Yasumu' flows very nicely, I liked the soft tubular bells: it reminds me of a video game soundtrack, but I can't figure out which one Ermm

Today:
Ozric Tentacles - Strangeitude (This album is great! Cool)
Modrę Efekt - Coniunctio (Very good album Sagi, really crazy but a kind of crazy I enjoy. How did they ended up making symphonic stuff? Tongue)
Ad Maiora - s/t (It is really good, but I bit lengthy)
Wendy Carlos - A Clockwork Orange (A mix of psychedelic electronic music and silly classical music covers with synths, it sounds a bit like some Mort Garson music Smile)

`The City' is definitely worth it, Sam, I'm as surprised as you! It's got a sleek synth, urban, almost industrial sound to it, with some nice tasteful synth-pop moments too. Octopus-4 wrote a really good review of it, and I agree with him! I got it for $7.50 Aus.

Meh, I chucked in `Pawn Hearts' before I got all the way throught it! The curse of VdGG strikes me again this time! Told you I have a very love/hate relationship with that band!

^I'll have to read his review Smile

LOL

Today so far:
Jiri Stivin - Zverokruh Zodiac (Great album Argo Thumbs Up)
Syndone - Odysseas (Probably my favourite RPI album from last year)
Unreal City - Il Paese Del Tramonto (It seems even better than the first, and the guitar definitively improved in skill and soul Smile)

Yep, the first Roxy is pretty special to me....although I honestly believe they never made a truly bad studio album (OK, `Flesh and Blood' comes close, but it's still just a decent pop album)

I've had a double CD reissue of both of the Catapilla albums for a while now, but so far I've only played the debut. I really dig it, the playing is so cool, and while the girl has a great voice and plenty of character, she's also utterly exhausting!

Haven't heard the new Unreal City album yet!

Hmmmm, I totally forgot all about the Syndone album! I've got about 5 or six titles I'm trying to slot into the final spot in my Collab Top 10 of 2014 list, and now I have to throw that one into that pile as well!

The first album is ok but a little unripe and incoherent I think, it's the second album where everything comes together! It is really really good, reminds me of Gong without the humor. Check it out you won't be disappointed!

Cheers, Sagi, I'll get to it sooner or later! I sometimes tend to stockpile albums before I eventually get around to listening to them! In the case of that double Catapilla set, I'm just trying to get my head around the first one before moving onto the follow-up.

My choices for tonight:

Tangerine Dream - The Dream Mixes
Black Sabbath - Master of Reality
My Dying Bride - Songs of Darkness, Words of Light (Nick, how amazing is the opener `The Wreckage of my Flesh'?! So dramatic and powerful!)
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Oresund Space Collective - Live at Truckstop Alaska, January 10th, 2015 (yes, all four plus hours of it!)
