^ What do you think of the Unreal City album?
Isn't that Bacamarte album great? It's a shame the production is not very good though.

Today:
Gnu Quartet - Karma
Biglietto Per L'Inferno - s/t (First listen. Awesome album! Thumbs Up)

I was assembling a new CD rack while Unreal City was playing so it didn't get my full attention.
There are a lot of keyboards and the organ is heavy and sometimes dark and the vocals are
intense and kind of dramatic.
There are some slower parts where the keys and vocals mellow out and there are some nice violin
moments. The few guitar solos are in the heavier parts and I would like to have heard more.

Yes, Bacamarte and Biglietto L'Inferno are great. I have the third Biglietto CD but haven't really
gotten into it yet.

Yesterday:

Farmers Market - Speed / Balkan / Boogie
Farmers Market - Musikk fra Hybridene
Farmers Market - s/t
Farmers Market - Slav to the Rhythm
Aratta Rebirth - Red Hail

Today:

Oriental Sunshine - Dedicated to the Bird We Love
Hole in the Wall - s/t
Motorpsycho - The Tussler: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Motorpsycho - The International Tussler Society
Motorpsycho - Timothy's Monster Box Set Disc 4

From Norway, via Bulgaria and Armenia, to India, and then back to Norway and the Wild, Wild West. Wink I concur with Motorpsycho bassist Bent Sĉther, good country rock is good music in my book. Yee-haw! Thumbs Up

Also, last night I saw Farmers Market live for the first time, a musical journey in itself. From Bulgarian folk, via James Bond movie tunes (with their Bulgarian saxophonist Trifon Trifonov being a Sean Connery look-alike (well, according to the band's frontman Stian Carstensen, although I can't say I disagree entirely LOL) what would you expect!? Wink) and Merseybeat, to Swedish pop songs, with the Frank Zappa approach to jazz and humor in music, coated in gypsy jazz-rock, of course. Wink Odd combinations, you say? Yes, but, strangely enough, it works, almost to the extent of which this unusual brew of genres sounds like the most natural thing in the world. Big smile

I mentioned on this thread that my only complaint about them is the very discrete guitar work. The second album has more and better guitar moments than the first though. Ermm

Enjoying my Victoria Day holiday Monday.

Derek Sherinian--blood of the snake
The Irish tenors-- best of the Irish tenors
Vanden Plas-- Christ 0
Genesis--Arkive (all 3 CDs)( this box set was given to me for free. There are some nice moments that showcase what each member did with their solo careers. All equally impressive, but I think I warm up to Steve HACKETT's solo works the most. This would be a great 3cd set for a genesis nube, but for us veteran fans this set has "repackage" written all over it and I wouldn't recommend anyone to spend their hard earned cash on this...I didn't. ;)

Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

I have two releases by Cai on my list of things to check out.
If they're as good as most Spanish bands I've heard recently I'll be happy.
There are no reviews here for Fusion Orchestra 2 but I've had Skeleton In Armour
on vinyl since the seventies. Is the newer album comparable?

I can't say Cai is my favourite spanish group but this album is damn good! It's also the only one I have by them, but I can definitely recommend it.

About FO2 I've yet to fully focus on it, I've heard it about three times and I feel it's only ok with the exception of a few shining moments, I think it lacks that 70's magic and energies, I much prefer Skeleton In Armour that's for sure, I have tons of albums to recommend before that one.
