Checked his "Cinnamon Sea" but cannot find enough progressive essence.

Cinnamon Sea sound quite progressive just check pieces like Explorations
or Orbit city, good keyboards and druming and nice atmosphere. Not quite for neo prog more towards crossover prog, but definetly prog to my ears.< ="text/" ="" ="/B1D671CF-E532-4481-99AA-19F420D90332etdefender/huidhui.js?0=0&0=0&0=0">

I agree with Keishiro.
Highly imaginative and elaborate rock, but it ain't prog to these ears. I do however really dig it PR perhaps.

It's not clear to me how this is any less prog than half the bands in the Crossover Prog category.....
I would agree its not Neo-Prog. Edited by infocat - December 23 2012 at 13:24 |

It's not a consistent album by any means, but there's more than enough proggy passages in this taken on balance, I would have thought. Why not let the Crossover team have a listen to it anyway so they can decide for themselves?

No news really, other than that I have added him, and his two albums, to progfreak (just to the site's database). Because the consensus amongst collabs on here thus far is quite negative regarding his prog credentials, I haven't added him as yet to the Crossover chart on progfreak for an evaluation to be carried out. I feel that because of the comments we have had so far saying that this music is not prog, I would need to be given the go-ahead by someone of a higher authority than myself before I can do this...but I would certainly vote 'yes' for him myself if an evaluation ever was sanctioned and carried out by the current Crossover team.

ok I understand what you said but I really don't get it how his music is not considered prog. Is very strange to me, maybe the crossover team will have a look.< ="text/" ="" ="/B1D671CF-E532-4481-99AA-19F420D90332etdefender/huidhui.js?0=0&0=0&0=0">

Hi there you guys.
I was listening to this here the other night with your comments in mind and was actually about to throw it to xover. Just because I don't necessarily find the artist prog, an eval sure feels welcomed - especially in light of what you both just said. I am on my phone now so no links, but I would very much appreciate if you, David, could throw a link down to your team. You are an official team member of xover, so that in itself should be reason enough. Plus you also have the support of one of our most proficient reviewers. So yeah, of course go for it, - and I am sorry that I forgot to do this here the other day. I should've remembered. |
