Topic: Battle of the Hipsters Posted: March 04 2013 at 23:13 |
I left out some obvious choices such as TMV, Radiohead, and the Decemberists in order to be fair. I generally loathe hipsters and a lot of their music, but I like the more interesting, less cutesy side of hipster music a great deal, I must admit.

I'm a huge Intronaut fan, so they gain my vote. Explosions in the Sky caught my eye, and I don't think they're too hipster comparing the fact that they're one of the more well known post-rock bands and that their music has been featured on TV quite a bit. Good poll though.

I am not sure what a hipster really is, if anything, but I voted for the Ozrics (not to be confused with their American cousins, the Osmonds).

Cynic is a hipster band? When did that happen?
"Hipster" seems to have evolved into this general somewhat derogatory term that doesn't really mean anything anymore.
No vote.

What on earth do any of these bands have ado with hipster?
Maybe you just wanted a flashy title to attract some attention to your poll.

Pelican. Because hipsters are trousers, and a pelican in trousers would be amazing to see.

I thought hipsters were a kind of underwear for women who don't fancy g-strings... Seem to remember a girl I was fooling around with who wore them. Kinda like hot pants with those feminine fiddly bits that always have to be somewhere on female underwear.
