Any fool can teach Pink Floyd (or any other great band) how to write music.

^thanks for that! helped me to clear up a few I didn't know (I can't believe I never noticed Meddle and The Least We Can... behind BSS ). I've already had the original collage from somewhere else though, that one is even cooler.

Beside the community itself, the nice people who show up here, what should one add?

I like the site because it helped me discover so many bands and albums I had never heard of before and see how the ones I already knew of compared to those unfamiliar. Four of my top 10 albums were ones I never knew existed before coming here, along with two of my top 5 bands.

Spam is addressed with rapidity, grace, and a refreshing spearmint aftertaste.
Wait, maybe this should go in Phil's thread.

In a world where you very rarely find this kind of music played on radio or shown on TV etc, it is a welcome oasis in the desert.

Much of the music I adore is celebrated (and ridiculed) here I enjoy using the albums ratings/reviews to get an idea of what might be a good place to start for any given band/artist Some of the humour around here is certainly to my taste Some of the trolling and flaming is for the most part, entertaining The site is not overly monitored I'm not however, going to lie and say that I like or dislike people that I've never met.

at least there is some knowledge and objectivity--I check out a Yes fan boy website occasionally and it's depressing how they love it all not matter how bad. I mean they would equate Howe Sherwood in talent ---it's all the same--a guitarist is a guitarist.

Jim's avatars indeed... Dean's retro-PA signature (can't beat that)... and of course the colossal amounts of music I have discovered in here since 2005.
