Four of my favorite sax bands who use sax who do you like the most.
Quite different but all very crucial prog bands with distinct sound, some of that sound came from their distinct sax players because of their sax-player in some parts had solos or melody line which is totally resembling the bands sound to fans, three Eclectic badns and one Crossover band who defied the use of sax in prog and art rock.

I also lumped in Hawkwind  a heavy / space rock band because i have little knowledge of them

Voted for Crimson because Mel Collins is among my favorite sax players.  Most sax players I don't really care for, but there are a handful I really like and Mel is one of them.

VdGG.  No other band can make saxophones sound so sinister.

I don't think sax is crucial for KC's sound. At least not as much as it's crucial for VdGG sound.

KC is probably my favorite band ever, but I voted VdGG.

Too late, already voted for VdGG. Jackson was way better than Turner anyway..

VDGG for their dark and ominous use of sax. KC next. Roxy Music had the most tasteful blending of sax into their music.
A GREAT YEAR FOR PROG!!!

VdGG, though any band with Jorgen Munkaby in has got to be considered as well, I particularly love his playing with Ihsahn.

Not on the list but I love early Roxy Music with Andy Mackay.
