Caress blows these others out of the water.....and wrestles with Moving Pics for the title of my favorite Rush album.

"Obvious" seems to be an odd word choice. Here on PA, 2112's
average rating is 4.07, while Caress of Steel's is 3.51. Meanwhile, at
AllMusic, 2112 is rated 4.5 stars, and Caress is rated a mere 2. The fan rating at amg is 4.5 to 3.5, again in favor of 2112. I think it's cool that many prefer Caress (I wouldn't have expected that, it wasn't obvious to me :-); I'll have to go back and re-listen to that one For now, my favorite of the two is also 2112.

Caress of Steel, but it's not the slam dunk it is for a lot of others in this poll.

Caress of Steel, but it's a pretty close race for me.

I picked 2112 for the song itself, but to be honest I'm not crazy about any of these. Their second era was far superior IMO.

So close, but 2112 edges out Caress because its shorter songs are better than Caress' shorter songs. I would list these albums in reverse-chronological order for my favorites.

2112 for me...The title suite was the most engaging concept they ever came up with before or since.
