There is something magical about The Remembing. I voted for that since it has a special place in my heart.
Though I have no idea how anybody can rank these great songs, they are all fabulous.
And....
How can you omit Awaken???
|
"Awaken" was omitted because it did not fill an entire side of the vinyl album. "Wonderous Stories" was the 1st song on side 2, followed by "Awaken". . It's the same story with "And You and I" which I consider another major Yes epic but alas it shared a side with "Siberian Khatru". |
Mind Drive could possibly have been included as it would have occupied one side of vinyl had it ever been released on vinyl (it's only a few seconds shorter than CTTE).

I'm glad to see the gates of Delerium winning this poll, even though I voted the revealing science of God. Anything, but close to the edge pleeeeeease! Lol

Voted The Remembering/High the Memory, one of my favorite songs of all time. All the others are of highest possible quality though if you ask me, if I had to rank them it would probably look something like this:
The Gates of Delirium The Revealing Science of God Close to the Edge Ritual The Ancient
But again, all of them are masterpieces to me.

CttE is an indefinable masterpeice. Delrium has to come close though as it brims over with inventive brilliant musicianship.

I'm surprised as well, I would have expected CTTE to walk this considering the album is 28 places above Relayer in the PA chart (at the time of writing). I assume it's the genius of And You And I that is responsible then.

1. The Revealing Science of God2. Close to the Edge 3. The Gates of Delerium
|
I am currently digging: Hawkwind, Rare Bird, Gong, Tangerine Dream, Khan, Iron Butterfly, and all things canterbury and hard-psych. I also love jazz! Please drop me a message with album suggestions.

CTTE.
On Relayer, I think Sound Chaser and To Be Over are both better than Gates of Delirium.

It's nice that Gates is winning---it is soooo popular among the die-hard fans--which is why it's too bad my dream of bringing back Moraz for a tour will never happen---to play the whole album--plus his live playing of Ritual was better than Wakeman's studio version IMO---- |
I know it's probably "Yes Blasphemy" but I've never been a big Wakeman fan & I much prefer Moraz.
