Hey long time prog rock listener and advocate here, new to the forum but not to the genre. Nice to get to know folks who appreciate the music.

Personally I started listening bands like Led Zep, Purple and Sabbath but that was long ago and although they're still great to me my interest has grown far beyond the language barriers already in the 90's and nowadays I find especially the Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and French language bands even more interesting than the ones operating with English, but I am not going to limit my experimentations to any language or barrier.

I've got my own weekly radio program in which I play stuff incl. prog rock and most definitely material that probably never before has had any airplay around here. While I concentrate on the more easily accessible songs and more melodic pop/rock of the 60's and 70's since it is to make people to tune their ears to the "underground" I still don't shy away from more experimental sounds either, and while the program is not set on those years it has been always my opinion music was at its very best between '68-'72 Big smile .. and as aforementioned the languages can be whatever.

To drop few prog rock names I love the work of Gianni Leone, Bacamarte (which gave me my forum name), Le Orme, Itoiz, Osanna, Formula 3, il Balletto di Bronzo, Pentacle etc

Thanks mate Cool

Yes Os Mutantes, love them of course, although I left them unmentioned as they're more of psychedelic rock than prog but yes I'm into Tropicália movement and another band I love from Brazil is Os Lobos who I think are even better than Mutantes..

One of my modern favourites proving that there's worthy music being made in the 2000's as well;

Hmm I want to share some of my favourite songs here.. I think I do have a certain ear and love for dramatic, cinematic, unconventional pop songs like this one;

..and also this;

Love both bands and the songs, they ought to be far more famous than they are, and were at the time.. both these strong compositions bringing up vivid visuals in my mind.

Hehe guess I should've pursued a career of cinematographer because I've always had an idea in my mind.. making a nostalgic, dramatic film which storyline is based on carefully chosen music and feelings the songs bring up rather than filming a film and then choosing the music for it ..though that would be too underground and too unconventional idea for Hollywood etc for sure - but that's the case with music these days as well, only simple stuff gets marketed Cool

Thank you! Yes I love the Brazilian music and Bacamarte is one of the absolute best, Depois Do Fim is a perfect record with no weak link whatsoever. But of course, one of the songs is my favorite and that's Smog Alado;
