Shawn Lane's "Powers of Ten". Just made it through my favorite song, "Gray Pianos Flying", and it never, ever ceases to finish without me breaking out in chills.

An excellent place to start, I can think of few groups that have changed my way of listening to music more than KJ. It's mostly thanks to them I've developed a working appreciation of industrial, noise and punk.

Insanely fast black/thrash metal with a distinctive futuristic aesthetic. The vocals take a while getting used to, being halfways between a Rob Halford-esque clean falsetto and the inhuman shrieking typical of modern black metal.

I just finished my copy of that exact same album, on vinyl too. Man that ending of Suppers Ready is to die for. Personally, I think the track benefits immensely from having two drummers. The down scaled tempo also really helps to put some fantastic live power into the mix. Phil is brilliant too methinks.

I am listening to Can's Soon Over Babaluma Talk about drumming! Jaki Liebezeit succeeds in mixing Calypso vibes with Krautrock's motorik rhythm, and it sounds absolutely beautiful.
