No surprises that I love them all, but the Rio show is just their most electric. It is almost as much fun watching the crowd react to them as it is listening to and watching the band.

Scott, I've heard that's a great show with the crowd energy, but that Alex was really sloppy that night, and that the sound was patchy....do you agree? My motives here are somewhat selfish. I'm looking for help on which one to buy! I've only watched the first two so I can't vote.

I have only Rio and Time Machine, so I can not vote too. As an opinion both two are great in terms of image and set list, but both two have some problems. Rio has not a good sound (unless IMO), specially about the drums. Time Machine sounds better but Geddy´s voice fails many times and ruins some tracks. But there are stunning moments. As an overall think I prefer Time Machine, best image and best sound.

Thanks GenBanks.....I watched some of the Time Machine on YT and yes, the vocals did bother me. Sorry to say, but it was really hard to enjoy listening to him strain that much.

I can't say that I really noticed Alex being sloppy or the sound being patchy but I've not watched it in a while. With the Time Machine show it was said that Geddy was fighting a cold at the time of the concert so I am not really sure why they chose to film that one, but I suppose that it was all scheduled ahead of time and they just went with it.

I like Grace Under Pressure Tour better than a A Show Of Hands. I also prefer the album of A Show Of Hands to the video because the latter excludes "Subdivisions," "Distant Early Warning," "Mystic Rhythms" and "Witch Hunt," and the drum solo is shortened (though it does give us "Territories," which is pretty cool). I think the band's performance on the GUP concert is slightly better.

R30 easily. I don't like the sound on Rush In Rio at all although the audience are bonkers

Time Machine Tour DVD, but if I can pick a bluray, then I take R30 Tour, because it has By-Tor And The Snow Dog on it
|
My favorite bands: Rush Magenta Marillion (Fish era) King Crimson Porcupine Tree Queen (70s era) Ozzy Osbourne (dosent like Black Sabbath thou) UFO Opeth (the albums whitout Growling)

would be Time Machine as the setlist is the best selection of their whole discography up to that point along with R30; i would've chose that if the whole concert were on DVD and not just Blu-ray

I hated this concert. Way too noisy.
Anyway, my vote goes to A Show Of Hands.
