All night I've been listening to the 5-CD comp entitled "Prog Rocks!" (That's just volume 1; apparently there are other volumes too.) (But PA splits the 5-CD set into 5 volumes, which, since there are volumes after this, can be quite confusing...) I searched progarchives.com, but while it's on here, there are no reviews. That's a pity, because this is amazing. I'm discovering *all kinds of stuff* here that's absolutely compelling and amazing from the 70s that I've never heard of (or bands I've heard of but never really listened to yet).

It has a few tracks and artists we all know (or should): Steve Hackett, Brand X, Barclay James Harvest, VDFF, Hatfield and the North, Gong, Syd Barrett, ELO, The Move, Comus, The Nice... But there's so much more here I've never heard before, bands I've never heard of; yet so much of it is wonderful.

There's even a bit of newer stuff, like Arjen, Beardfish, Riverside, Spock's Beard, etc. Just a wonderful introduction to great tracks. Most are shorter songs, not the 20 minute epics. Recommended.

What did you think about this album? I own most of White Willow's albums but haven't heard their first.

I've just finished listening to Heaven And Earth (Yes) and I still feel I've been cheated.
Currently spinning Side 3 of Billy Sherwood's 'Prog Collective' experiment (Epilogue - the -2nd instalment) and I'm digging it WAYYYYYY more than this latest Yes, old-fogey-Prog-try-hard pleasantry...... Nice it is, but ultimately bland..........
Why is Sherwood so bashed within the Prog community I wonder.......??? He's such a great musician......

Electric Orange brand new album 'Volume 10'.

Damn I was expecting something completely different! Heh judging by their two most recent releases, I thought the band was beginning to run low on ideas, perpetuating a certain riff based mojo they aquired during Morbus and Krautrock From Hell, but boy was I mistaken! This sounds like the Krautrock of yore. Genuine experimentation - like had these middleaged men suddenly decided to get back into acid and lucid dreaming in the studio. The sound is completely original, but if I were to compare it to anything, then I'd probably say Faust teaming up with Klaus Schulze ca 1971 or Code lll's cult classic 'Planet of Man' submitted to strange tribalistic rock dreams.
