Heh, nice little joke from the band. Now, when are they actually releasing the new album?

I haven't received my copy yet, but there has been enough "previews" on YouTube lately to get some idea of what the Endless River would sound like in one-, well, in 4 pieces.

I must say what I have heard so far is above my expectations. I was kind of bracing myself for a pleasant, but somewhat tired and docile sound, which doesn't seem to be the case. We can lament the absence of Waters all we want, but we have to accept the fact that he is not coming back, and even if he were, he wouldn't be the Waters he used to be 40 years ago.

He wasn't the same already in the late 1970s. I will probably find it easier to ignore one track worth of Polly Samson clueless blathering than to tolerate a full hour of Roger Waters' highly intelligent venting about the grave imperfections of the human society (a la The Wall or The Final Cut). Ich weiß das schon; now, let's move on Geek

Based on what I am feeling right now, I'll probably go for 4 stars, once the album has arrived.

It really is a tranquil, serene journey. Kind of reminds me of some of Rick's first solo album, with a bit of On An Island. I really don't know how it's gonna go down with the 'masses' ?? Do folks want to hear an hours worth of meditation music ? ?
Very 'easy listening'.....

First listen: Yeah, not bad. Expected a bit more.
Second listen after accepting what it is instead of what I expected: Actually it's a lot better than I thought it was.
Third listen: Yeah this is a really great album!

So probably going to be stuck in my CD player until Christmas at least then.

I tried listening to it without any preconceptions, as if it was a new album by an unknown to me band. It worked out very well. At this time, I gave it 4 stars, but if I feel the same way tomorrow, I'll upgrade TED to 5 stars.

Guys, what specifically are the 6 bonus videos on the 2nd disc?

Any interviews?  Are they conceptual videos?

One listen in and I'm enjoying it immensely. Yes its not breaking any new ground but its got all the spacey trademarks I adored in the 70's.

I'm flying to Berlin today and can't wait to listen to it for the first time on the plane (although it might won't be a good idea with the ears clogging Ermm)

I too would like to know what benefits the bonus DVD/Blu-ray has. I'm on the fence on if I should by it or just the standard version.

Though I didn't have any expectations in terms of this album, I have to say that it's quite satisfactory that there is some "new" Pink Floyd music. And I think that it's a nice way to end a journey.

^ there is an 'homage' to Endless River.....    Some 'backyarder' whose done a quite fine job of capturing the 'loungey' elements of Floyd's music.........
Floyd is Floyd, never can e replicated 100% faithfully, nor ever will be.........

It's the classic (and classy) Pink Floyd sound, but I am also detecting an elevated level of sonic finesse, and an additional layer of grandeur. I guess that's what brilliance matures into over 40+ years of practicing excellence.
