I don't know how I started to like progressive rock.
I think it happened because I always liked of a special focus more on instrumental songs and also more elaborate. But that's not the case now.

* I would like to know if there is another band that has similar characteristics to the
style used by the band Barclay James Harvest in their first four albums (before of the Everybody)
as a dramatic feeling (Dark Now My Sky, Moonwater, She Said, Galadriel) and the orchestra
(When The World Was Woken, Medicine Man, Mocking Bird, Little Lapwing).

* Also, if there is any other band that has characteristics similar in style with the band Renaissance. A great and strong piano, along with the bass very well
done and the best, the orchestra that, for me, is the center of attention
(A Song For all Seasons, Can You Understand (live), Can You Hear Me, Running Hard, Kiev...)

Thanks in advance!

First question:
I should recommend at least The Moody Blues.
Also The Mandalaband and perhaps Alan Parsons Project.

Second question:

Probably Curved Air would be great to give a try.

Kingsnake,

In the 70's, Alan Parsons Project is very good. I have almost all albums.

Moody Blues have a similar style to the pop, no?
Of course that BJH also have this style after the 1974 album and
APP also have after the 1980 album.

Maybe, the first albums of the Moody Blues were more rockiest...

Mandalaband? I will search for more informations...

I've heard.
When I'm looking for about the two band that I quoted, appear some things about Curved Air.

Thanks for your time!

You may find Strawbs and The Enid to your liking, and possibly some of Jon Lord's stuff or Isildur's Bane.

if it is dramatic feeling that you want I recommend Van der Graaf Generator. they are, however, not the slightest bit like Barclay James Harvest; they are much more rough and violent

Yes, Harmonium sing in french. Try their second album "Si on Avait Besoin d'une cinquieme saison". Really wonderful stuff. Oh yeah, I just remembered, for piano based prog you may want to check out Iamthemorning.

Strawbs and The Enid are more instrumental or have a dramatic feeling?

Jon Lord apparently looks like the Hackett's albums.

I thought little information about Isildur,
But they seem more "cheerful" haha

Hey, can you suggest me one album?
I've heard plenty about them, but I don't know where to start.

Thanks for your time!

This is not a problem even.
I've heard part of the first album and liked it.
Ya very wonderful.

Finally someone with a idea focused on the piano!
I'll listen with a great care.

Thanks for your time!

Yes, Harmonium sing in French
Magenta sounds like a mixture of Yes and Renaissance. That's why I mentioned them.

Not piano-based (though both present acoustic & electric), more sax and vocals, but cheerful all-around:

You should definitely go check out Spring. Kinda like Barclay James Harvest on weed with more mellotron. Should suit your tastes brilliantly methinks.
