I'm pretty sure the decoder isn't released. I've seen no mention of it from official sources, and it isn't for sale anywhere online.

the uk version has 5 tracks on the back of the case but has been split into 12 tracks for some reason. pissed me off as a fellow progger!
if you copy or play the album on windows media player it ses the tracklist is as follows (i am not writing out the full track names so i will abresviate)
1. cyngus part a 2. cygnus part b 3. cygnus part c 4. cygnus part d 5. the widow 6. lvia 7. miranda part a 8. miranda part b 9. miranda part c 10. miranda part d 11. cassandra part 1 12. cassandra part 2
THIS TRACKLIST IS INCORRECT. I HAVE WORKED OUT THE REAL TRACKLIST. CHANGE IT ON YOUR MEDIA PLAYER BY EDITTING THE TRACK NAME IF YOUR VERSION IS INCORRECT...
1. cygnus 2. the widow 3. lvia 4. miranda 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12: cassandra. i have no idea why it is this many tracks long as the suite only has 5 parts!!!
THIS IS THE CORRECT TRACKLIST. thank you, hope that avoids confusion. any other problems? reply here or PM me. i know all! |
I hit that problem too and come to the same solution as you have - Iwas trying to figure out the title of the third track scheduled for radio play tonight - believe it is Via Viaquez.
What is all this nonsense about track numbers and whehther this is an ep or what. Hasn't been a problem in the past - e.g. so Topographic Oceans is technically an ep? - merde!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm mainly guessing here, and I don't even know if that's the true reason, I think the problem is in the chart definitions of singles, EPs and albums. Because with only 4 tracks it probably doesn't qualify as an album in whatever system their record label uses, it may be possible that the label, in an attempt to make the record more palatable in the "pop" market, said that if they were only going to record four tracks, they would only get paid for a single, to encourage them to make shorter more radio-friendly music. Although if that is the case it's a fairly useless gesture, since they ended up with the same music anyway. If, and it seems fairly odd, that isn't the case, then I'd put it down to TMV just being tricky, which is more likely.

i've had some news people. but this is only for those in the uk.
HMV are doing an offer. £6 for the widow single, the widow dvd and the widow vinyl single. sounds good. the official tracklist should be as follows
The Widow (CD Single - exclusive storm thorgerson cover)
1. Frances the Mute a. In Thirteen Seconds b. Nineteen Sank, While Six Would Swin c. Five Would Grow and One Was Dead
2. The Widow
rumour has it track 1 is around 15 minutes long. it is called the decoder as it is supposed to have clues to what the story of FTM is about. I do not know if track 2 will be full length or a radio edit as the promo video does not have the weird end section.
The Widow (DVD Single - exclusive storm thorgerson cover)
1. The Widow (video) 2. Roulette Dares (The Haunt of) (Live at the electric ballroom) 3. Televators (video)
The Widow (Vinyl)
Side A: Frances the Mute Side B: The Widow
Release Date = 14th of march

Anyone but me hate the HUGE amount of FILLER on this album? When they actually play it rocks - but I count about 20-25 minutes of NOISE in between tracks and spaced throughout. Almost as if they wanted a 77 minute album but only had 50 or so minutes of actual music. If you want to hear NOISE - go outside and just listen - there is plenty. Me - I want the music. The actual music on this dsc is 5 stars - but I find myself using the fast forward button a little too much.......
