Hey I had offered up advertising space to him for FREE on both my karts for the upcoming season, all he has to do is provide the decals. Can't beat free advertising, eh? Sure it's only the karts but if you wanted to go on my car it would run you $12,000 USD so I didn't even bother askingLOL

Though I can't help, just wanted to say it's much appreciated, advertisers being a necessary evil to keep the site going, much better for them and the site members if the ads are at least music related even if not necessarily prog.  I think I speak for most members when I say I have not nor will I ever respond to an ad that isn't music related.

pffff..... your loss brother ... by not responding .. you miss out on this gem from last year.

my ass had gotten pretty saggy with all the good food Raff had been cooking last summer LOL

I have to say the loss is more than I can bear, I'm going to go off and off myself now. LOL

Just make sure it's not one driven by Villeneuve, eh.

I don't know how feasible this is, but here goes. Many of us music fanatics know the local Indie record or music shop. Would anyone have an idea on how to put together a "package " of these stores that would rotate from one ad to the next ? My local favourite , Spin-It, is not exclusively prog, but they are the place collectors, not only of music (LPs, CDs, DVDs, even 45s), but other collectibles also, head for when shopping or looking for something to buy.
I know the big cities like Montreal, Toronto, New York, London etc ... have more than one. So while most may not have a big (if any) advertising budget, they might be amenable to sharing (time-sharing, if you will) an ad spot at PA.

Nice idea, they can split the spot in 2 for example and split the impressions.

I liked having the amazon.com link on the band pages; it didn't really come off as "generic" ads because the amazon blocks actually linked to the music on each artist's page. Makes for convenient shopping!
Just a thought...

EDIT: ah! sorry. Embarrassed I hadn't realized that I was using Firefox with an adblock plug-in when I wrote that LOL. At any rate, we should keep the link IMO, as well as the one to eBay.

Hi guys

it's started, we are now showing TOP banner ads from Prog Related Advertiser in the site and in the forum.

As now, only 3 advertisers subscribed.

- www.LPCDReissues.com , web store
- Glass Hammer Band
- Aetherius Band

We need more than that to remove the generic ads from the site, please help us.
I have contacted most of the LABEL with new releases in 2008.

For more details http://www.progarchives.com/about_us.asp#advertise

Any suggestions ? let me know

Thanks for the help.

Max

I'd love to help Max, but most of the musicians I know are broke and not able to afford that kind of money for advertising!

Maybe with a new release, but not as an on going tihng, $100 is a lot of wad!

I am talking to people about it, but being met with laughter/coffee spitting/shouts of HOW MUCH?!!?!? so no success so far!

When the music business takes a massive financial nose dive (which, like it or not it IS) the ripples of effect keep on coming, cd plants, shops, it's not just musicians feeling the pinch, it's wide spreading.   There is just no spare cash in the kitty.
