Give them a try, I'm sure you wont be dissapointed. I'd recomend As The World as a starting point. As well as great songs they're also fantastic musicians.

I'd like to look further into Eclectic Prog (I already listen to King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Gnidrolog, and Yezda Urfa) and RIO/Avant Prog (I already listen to Zappa, Captain Beefheart, and Henry Cow). Any suggestions, maybe some lesser known bands?

I think James already said this, but try Picchio dal Pozzo as well.

Just had a thought about Echolyn. If you go here http://www.echolyn.com/  you can download numerous free tracks including a live version of their classic Mei album and it wont cost you a penny.
