Hello,
I lack here a kind of list of Prog bands, counted by their  albums´ actual ratings. I´ve took the trouble and done this chart:

It´s based on Top Prog albums list, with max. 250 results, filtered by min. 30 reviews of each album. Then I´ve  filtered this list by minimum 3 listed albums and get 25 all-time Top rated bands. I know, there are one of the weak points here: I made a simple average from weighted average ratings.
 
Is it possible to create something similar list in our site, with many filters to creating various interesting charts?

Good work but I'm not sure what it proves, except it seems to be weighted in favour of Supertramp.

Judging by Gandalff's 1-star rating for Crime of the Century I do not think, he is much of a Supertramp fan. LOL

I am not sure of this: does the list show which artist receives constantly  many reviews with good ratings of its albums?

Sorry. I appreciate the effort you put in calculating but I think it proves absolutely nothing.

And if you do the effort and try to calculate the average of ALL band's albums, you'll get quite low ratings for Genesis, because of lower ratings on their 80's albums. Besides, if the final conclusion is that Dream Theater is worth 4.07, and ELP 3.96,it means absolutely nothing. It's just not worth it.

Surely, you extracted only albums that are on Top 100 Prog Charts or something, but the chart itself is worth nothing since there are many arguably better albums which just won't make it on the list since they're too obscured to be reviews by a large number of people.

Surely, it's possible to make a 'list of prog bands' fitting to a certain criteria, but calculating average ratings is unreliable.

There are better bands than Supertramp, there are also worse ones. Let's leave it at that.
There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"
