It might have something to do with so many bands of that type coming from Norway, Finland or Sweden.  Although, the whiteness still doesn't call for that type of music in my opinion.

You’d be surprised how well bands like Agalloch conjure up classically romantic images of snowy panoramas and white forests.

I tried listening to Agalloch this winter but I've not wanted to listen to them. LOL

I really have to be in the mood for Agalloch too, but when you’re in that mood it’s just awesome.

The winter of 2009 to 2010 I really got into Yes and listened to them a lot. That winter probably was the whitest I have experienced, so now Yes is loaded with a winter mood every time I listen to them. I suppose that's not an usual feeling people would feel when listening to their music.

No, definitely not.  I was the exact same way with maudlin of the Well (REALLY got into them winter of 09-10) so they will always remind me of winter, forests, snow, and the beauty associated with them.

Alright, Fables from a Mayfly is absolutely amazing.  Top-notch material all the way through, I can safely say after just one listen.
