Hey all,
I've been lurking the PA since about '09 and just started posting on here a few weeks ago. This place is solely responsible for me discovering some excellent bands and expanding my taste in music. The first time I began to appreciate progressive rock was in '06 when our percussion director formed a keyboard ensemble to play Karn Evil 9 2nd Movement. I was only a freshman in highschool and into some terrible music at the time. The complexity, intensity, and ambition of ELP got into me and urged me to explore music.
These days I'm really passionate about the classics like Genesis, King Crimson, VDGG, and Yes, but I also appreciate many modern bands such as Beardfish, Anglagard, Kayo Dot, the Dear Hunter, Pain of Salvation, etc that I otherwise would never know about. PA has really given me the push to expand and explore my tastes and try out new music every chance I get. I would just like to give back to the community by writing some reviews and posting on the forums, and that's why I've decided to come in and get active. It feels nice to climb out of the shadows...

What part of Indiana were you from originally?
And who are a few of your favorite bands...prog and otherwise?

Welcome. Here's one from the more obscure depths of modern prog for ya. Hope you're fond of organs ;-)
That was really cool! I didn't realize stuff like that existed. I do enjoy organ very much, especially like the video of this fellow rocking out to one of bach's fugues. Extreme pedal action!
