3%20stars My review is produced using this release: D.V. MORE RECORD CD DV 6778

My Rating:6/10 PA Rating:3/5

1969 and 1970 in this compilation. That is very budget compilation,eEven if of thickness. This is a good compilation of Proto Prog years of Yes. In this sense the songs are very good and "Something's Coming" or "Dear Father" are two 100% Yes songs with "Looking around" or "Sweet Dreams". In general, nevertheless, who it loves the symphonic Yes, it will not find nothing of interesting in "Millennium Collection. Vice versa it will find good music. Interesting the booklet, with three pages of on stage photo very good. Unfortunately, if I don't wander, they check the Yes in 80' s and 90's. And, therefore, they don't go well with the songs of the CD (above all because the formation is different!!!). Returning to the music (after this note, really worthy of note considering the type of compilation), how already said it is Proto Prog. Very interesting "Something's Coming" (of Sondheim and Bernstein) that in this Proto Prog version is one of the best Yes song, "Dear Father", aged very well and another 100% Yes symphonic, "Every Little Thing" (of Lennon and McCartney), good and very powerful and "Then", to consider like first example of Yes style, above all for the drums' line.

Very budget and short (only 8 songs) and limit to the 1969 and 1970. But, to the end, still present and from not to consider itself a simple tribute to the Yes Proto Prog. Not only for the Die Hard Yes fans!!!

"Every little thing" opens with this incredibly energetic jam (first proof of Bruford's greatness), but "Something's Coming" is probably the most majestic & the most exciting song in the collection.

Thought I'd vote for "Then" as no-one else has - it's as good as any other song there, I feel.

Something's Coming.  I love Chris' "ok for me in america" riff!

Although Every Little Thing does have a Day Tripper riff. . .

I like 'em both!

Man, if Yes could only be more adventurous and pick songs like these for its current concert repetoire. It's always the predicatable, Roundabout, You and I, I've seen all good people, etc. etc. How about some more Drama too!

It never fails to amaze me how many different Yes compilations there are. Of these songs I prefer Sweet Dreams. Great bassline.

I couldnt agree more. Why do we need this complation? Yes probably holds the world record for poorly conceived, pointless compilations. Does anybody have an accurate count? And besides this period of there development doesnt need to be rehashed and re-released AGAIN, I've already got these songs on other albums.
