Topic: Bands Starting with "T" Posted: September 27 2012 at 15:10 |
Well, i thought i'd go through my artists starting with "T" and find out what your favorites are from them. My favorite prog band overall is in there, Triumvirat, and also some groups similar to them, like The Trip, Triade, and Trace. Pat Travers and Triumph are from home turf (I'm Canadian) and of all listed, are the only artists i have seen in concert. (They both did great shows, Travers in December of '78, and Triumph in the winter of '81) With Toto and Tangerine Dream, i only own their debut's, which i love immensely, but have heard other albums that are appealing. What are your favorites here?

T Dream! with Triumvirat right behind. Also mention: Taal, The Tangent, Tempus Fugit , Townscream and Trion

I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

From the list, Triumvirate followed by Tangerine Dream, but off the list I like The Tangent, Tempest, and Transatlantic.

An easy vote for Triumvirat for me, I love several of thier albums, but the Italian Triade's sole album `1998 - La Storia...' is terrific too. I hope someone eventually votes for them!
Have been on a bit of a Tangerine Dream bender lately, but too soon to tell if I prefer them over Triumvirat.

That's neat, John. T2 are a fairly recent discovery of mine, from about half a year ago-great guitar!

Doug!
I very much like TD's `Phaedra' and `Force Majeure', but have really been giving the live `Encore' a stack of plays lately and it's deeply impressed me.
Guilty pleasure time - I'm really enjoying both the 80's `Logos' live album (very melodic and upbeat) and `Underwater Sunlight' albums, even if they have their plastic 80's moments!

Easily Triumvirat! Illusions on a Double Dimple is equal to Close To The Edge, or any other masterpiece albums in my book.
Tangerine is the obvious second, they just can't top the raw beauty of Triumvirat.

Sidenote: If you put on Todd Rundgren, I'd have to pick him (I'm sorry Triumvirat!!) even Something/Anything? is classic.
