Fish era Marillion beats out The Wake and Frequency which are the only IQ albums I listen to these days. I haven't heard a Pendragon album I like yet, and T is well a great musician who makes dull music. Airbag is probably the band I listen to the most these days, but they're a little too close to PT and Floyd for comfort if you ask me. Marillion it is.

IQ A band which most people don't care/hate just for that neo-prog tag.

Without doubt IQ, my favourite band of any genre. So damned consistent, and yes I include the 2 Menel-era albums in that! Marillion next, but the H-era has too many weak albums/tracks for them to come close to IQ. Pendragon are still growing on me, Not Of This World is fantastic...

My appreciation is growing for Marillion (6 albums), Pendragon (3) and IQ (2). I definitely plan to get more of their albums in the future. I also like what I've heard of Airbag (assuming it's the Swedish PT/PF-soundalikes).

Fish Era Marillion enough for me to vote Marillion in this poll. I heard all of Pendragon's albums and I like them and this is "The Only" different thing! between my opinion and yours here! I agree with you about start to end of your post.

Marillion with IQ a solid second. The music Marillion creates is simply magical, Misplaced Childhood is a classic. Brave is one of the best concept albums ever and Marbles is magical. Throw in albums like Seasons End, STCBM and TSE, it's a pretty formidable catalog.
Micky uses the one album as a coaster not because of the music but because the CD format suxs...I have many CD's I use as coasters and as frisbees

It's unfair to see Marillion with 18 votes against T with one vote, unless we talk about the first Marillion era. T's music is far more interesting and intriguing than the late Marillion. So i give a vote for T over IQ just because, i have a big heart for those lonely and desperate soul against those popular big acts...

Surprised to see such a big gap between IQ and Pendragon.

I have a big history with IQ, I've been a fan since back in the days when their releases were on cassette . I much prefer the Hogarth-era Marillion to the Fish-era these days, their last few releases have been outstanding. It's a tough call for me between these two superb bands. Pendragon I find a little so-so (and their tendency to "lift" parts of songs really annoys me), and I'd place them behind Airbag in the pecking order. T is ok but last of these 5. I'll vote IQ for the career-long consistency.

Marillion over Pendragon over IQ
IQ would be a close second, cause i love their albums but i've seen them live three times now and three times they just were awful, dull, uninspired, boring for whatever reason
