TOP 20 Genesis Songs - #9 If you're a newcomer - in each thread we're voting for the greatest GENESIS songs (following the method agreed upon here.) Every participant names three songs in order of preference: First song = 4.5 points Second song = 3 points Third song = 2 points After a couple of days I add up your "points" and announce the winning song for a current spot. Then we move on and vote for the next spot. All points are reset. Our goal is to come up with 20 songs so it might take some time. Voting is closed. #10 thread will be opened soon No. 9 song is The Knife 01. The Knife. 21.5 pts 02. One for the Vine. 16.5 pts 03. The Return of Giant Hogweed. 15.5 pts 04. The Carpet Crawlers. 11.0 pts 05. Blood on the Rooftops. 9.0 pts ~~~THE LIST~~~ 9. The Knife 10. to be continued Edited by thief - August 03 2020 at 00:11 |

1. Anyway
2. the Fountain Of Salmacis 3. Fly On a Windshield Really hope this time there will go some Lamb song, or even Nursery song. This "songs from Foxtrot & Selling" list starts to look very boring. Like those were the only masterpieces of Genesis.

too many great songs on that album , so I don't see us agreeing! It should be In The Cage but I suspect the live versions overshadow the studio version I fear. I have a soft spot for Back in NYC so that is getting my vote at the moment.

Agreed! So far 11 Lamb songs got a vote at some point. Lilywhite Lilith and The Light Lies Down on Broadway are also worth considering I think, so make it 13. In any case, Anyway and The Lamia are among my favorites and I've seen them getting votes earlier, perhaps one of them will sneak into TOP 10-12ish.

The Return of the Giant Hogweed The Knife Riding the Scree The first 8 so far are more or less the ranking I would give them.
