JD - tracks are all up by now, as you hopefully have seen :-)
No upper limits on number of files for streaming, as long as it's approved by the artist and/or copyright holders. Bolded the last one so that other readers in here won't start flooding us with stuff we can't add ;-)

Thierry - pretty nice work. Please send as mp3's next time around though if possible, and if named in the "artist - album - track - title" format it makes the addition work easier and less time consuming ;-)

I must apologize, I sent a number of mp3's last week via "Yousendit" but I've just been going through the many pages of posting re: submissions and I realize I sent way more than is recommended or possibly allowed (a little overenthusiastic on my part I suppose). Will this prevent them from being posted or will the admin. group just decide which tracks to post? I could forward a list of the preferred tracks if it would help.
Again, sorry about that.

Frederic L'Epee from the band Yang has given us permission to stream their songs from their website on their page here at PA.  Here is a link to their website.  http://yanggroup.fr/music.html  There are 3 songs from their 1st album and 3 songs from their new album.

Thank you,

Scott

As for that please go to page 1 of this thread, JD and follow the instructions given in the second post ...

You don't need to. It's the same .mp3 file which is shown in all these places.

The .mp3 files are added for bands. For example, if you enter an album page related to a band with more .mp3 files, you will see all the .mp3s, not only the .mp3 from that particular album.

On the front page you can listen to the latest 50 added mp3s. On a band page as well as on album pages of the band you can listen to all available songs of the band. The mp3s are not attributed to particular album entries. At least so it seems to me.

With the authorization of the band, I worked with one of the PA collaborators last year to get a Canadian Symphonic Rock Band listed on the PA site. Now I'd like to get more of their music out there.

I would like to ask about the multiple locations for MP3's on the PA site. I see at least three distinct places.

1 - PA front page (top 50)
2 - Band Front page
3 - Band's individual album pages

Do I need to specify where I'd like the MP3's to be placed or is that already decided by the admin group?

I'd like to be able to get 3 songs from each album on each of the Band's album page's (since it's very diverse music) , 5 different songs (maybe live versions) on the band's Front page and maybe 5 or six to be put on the PA Front page as a showcase to try and stir some interest in the band.

Am I best to get the MP3's in place on the Band's pages first before trying to get them on the PA front page?
Thanks for your help and for the great site you have built.

Hey, new here. I hope that's OK?

Sent two mp3's for a band yesterday, not sure if the band allows it, but I just saw that there was already one track up...

Just sent the entire QEO album to [email protected] via YouSendIt.

Feel free to put up the entire thing or just selected songs, whichever suits you.

Hi Tony,

I am sending a 7Zip archive (hope you can open it)   with 4 songs of Şursaflokkurinn  to you via Megaupload;  hopefully I packed the right MP3s (with album and band in the title of the MP3)  into the Zip data.

Greets,

Any chance we could find a way to put a reference along the lines of "Sorry, KING CRIMSON prohibits the use of mp3 streaming on ProgArchives. Please do not submit mp3 files for this artist.", instead if the standard "Sorry, no free mp3 streaming available for KING CRIMSON".

Something like this may cut down on the amount of work for both PA members and Admins alike.

Is there a list of artists that have prohibited the use of mp3 files published somewhere Question

Cheers,
