Topic: What do you hate the most about prog? Posted: January 01 2005 at 09:18 |
off topic but...... velvet clown wrote: going to dublin and cork dude, spend a couple of days in dublin (nice city but a bit up itself these days owing to too much new money floating around) and then head west. Cork is lovely (not the city) but the west of the county along the coast, Kinsale, Skibbereen etc. Then head to Kerry to the Dingle peninsula (very very nice) and journey up the coast through Clare and Galway (spanish point, doolin, ballyvaughan, carraroe, clifden etc) you can also check ot the aran islands too along the way (very wild and woolly). On this route, you'll get great seafood, mad people, brilliant guinness, wonderful traditional music and some of the best scenery in Europe.

That, and its "progressive rockishness."
Why can't it make up its mind? Is it progressive, or is it rock?
Only its hairdresser knows for sure....

Gee whiz guys, you really do not help when you joke about prog replacing a girlfriend
I'd really like a more balanced attitude in some people, some proggers seems to be so lonely and craving for love it's depressing
You should dream a lot less and focus on improving social skills and washing a bit more often...body odour and greasy hair sure attracts women duh.
Prog is a nice hobby, but god do not make it your center of life.

well, first, it is no more cool to flirt women in metros, shopping centers, libraries or everywhere. the new trend is meeting on the net: you browse, check some photos that you like and tadam: you send them a kind message. but i stopped to do this: because i used to look for gorgeous women, the result was that i only met idiot beauties and/ or women who just look for one nights. a solution sounding interesting was to participate to hiking events, but the girls are absolutely too young for me: 25 years old!! women of my age usually do not practice very much sports. the last solution is to meet at work, but the problem is that they are all engaged or they are too old, being on the verge of a retirement! considering all this, i prefer staying alone than being badly accompanied!
oh, i forgot: people in the bars are SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
STUPID!!

omg, please don't let that discussion come up about proggers not having social abilities .... I used to read in a gamers' forum (when i was younger ...) and the main thing most people wrote was about others spending too much time in front of the computer and loosing touch to society, and then alwasy those real life - virtuell life discussions
PLEASE DON'T START THAT TOPIC!!! SOMEONE SPENDING A LOT OF TIME WITH HIS/HER HOBBY DOES NOT LOSE SOCIAL ABILITIES AS A CONSEQUENCE!!!!
just let the people do what they want to do, ok? i think there are bigger problems than people that listen too much too prg music

Where did this all come from? All this stuff about depressed proggers craving love? I don't know about everyone else, but Prog is my hobby, and NOT my life, in the same way a friend of mine loves his cricket. Just because I'm a Progressive Rock fan does not mean I have social problems!.....I take things personally don't I?

Amen. Though one thing to say - progheads attract progheads, and there can be no odd number of these weird species
out there. No social skills never hurt anyone, except maybe the
occurings of suicidal thoughts. But that's off topic. If you feel
depressed because no one loves you, get a change. If you don't want to
change and feel the need to kill yourself because there is a lack of
affection, well you are a stubborn ass.
There's this whole "if someone is worth me they take me the way I am"
clichéd sentence that I could not restrain myself from reciting.

What I hate the most about prog is that you get addicted to it...you just can't stop buying more and more albums, it's horrible...

Austria? Any particular reason for that? Visiting the Mozart house maybe? The "Hipp Hipp" crew filmed there, one of the funniest bits where Itzhak Skenstrøm thought diary meant diarhea in Swedish.
