You beat me to the punch, Patrick. Even as a snot-nosed kid I could hear with my not-so-critical ear that Lifeson pulls off one memorable solo. Just razor sharp and quick. One of his best (and there are many).

I have seen that you have mentioned Contents Under Pressure a couple of times. 
 
I read the biography Visions a number of years ago, which was very good.  Have you read this one?  I am probably going to pick up Contents Under Pressure anyhow, but I am curious as to how much is added to Visions.  If nothing else, it should have an additional 8 to 10 years of band info.

Solo from "Kid Gloves" just finished ... and I still maintain that it's a Lifeson classic. That's what I love about Lifeson's playing is not of it's for show--it's always a statement.

Never even heard of it ! Embarrassed
What is great about Contents Under Pressure is how they analyze EACH album from the debut to either Vapor Trails, Feedback or R30 (damn, have to check this at home!)
Each chapter is an album.  Great insights from the band !

Bill Banasiewicz (sp?).  In many of their early albums, they listed him as "B" as one of the people that they thanked.  I heard somewhere down the line they had a falling out.  Not sure if it was due to the book or not.

I remember Skip Gildersleeve always was mentioned in their albums for years and years. Haven't seen his name in ages, though.

Yeah, some of my all time favorites are included there, like Losing It and Tai Shan. I've never heard anyone say they love Tai Shan, but for me it's one of their top ten songs.
