New Hackett is good while SWilson album has not grown on me yet despite many plays. Anekdoten is in the post but think it will be better than my other two purchases.

I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Echolyn will release a new album on the 31st: I Heard You Listening. More info here.
Maybe the third major masterpiece of this year. I'm curious... Their self-titled 2012 album is on top of my list of 21st century prog albums.

Haven't yet gotten my hands in much 2015 prog yet. What I got and really like:The Barock Project -Skyline.
A spark in the Aether by The Tanget is the only other prog release I purchased, but somehow I am not really warming to it. On the Non-Prog front released in 2015 an album which currently is not getting out of my CD Player: Europe - War of Kings!

2015 is a great year for prog already and we're only halfway through it! Lots of great releases by established groups and some great debuts as well! Some of my favorites so far:
Magic Pie - King For A Day Sanguine Hum - Now We Have Light Arcane - Known/Learned No More Pain - The Post Human Condition (great debut from these guys, looking forward to seeing them continue) Native Construct - Quiet World (another great debut, can't wait to see them live in August) Beardfish - Comfort Zone Breaking Orbit - Transcension Chaos Divine - Colliding Skies Leprous - The Congregation Sylvan - Home Anekdoten - Until All the Ghosts Are Gone and others as well, some already mentioned here. Plus we have new ones coming from Riverside (finally gonna get to see them live this year, YEYAH!), Subsignal, Spock's Beard, Echolyn, Godsticks and more. What a great year for prog! |

I actually used to be into Europe as a teen due to final countdown but later kind of totally forgot about Europe. It was years later that I heard a tune of their album Bag of Bones which is a kind of bluesy hard rock album and I bought it because I apart from Prog listen to a lot of modern Blues Rock stuff. The newest Europe "War of Kings" is less bluesy than Bag of Bones but its an amazing kick ass hard rock album. Especially enjoyable cranked up in the car while driving down the highway.
