It's been established countless times, Queen is Prog-Rock.  They're moreso Hard Rock, but their stylings are far too Prog to be overlooked.  Secondly, there's no reason to want to move Radiohead out because you hate them.  Radiohead were added before I came to this site.  If there was a vote on the band being added I would have voted against them being here.  They don't fit into one prog category here.

But neither do Porcupine Tree and Marillion.  Just because a band doesn't want to be associated with a specific label because of its connotations, it doesn't mean that the band doesn't fit that label.

By that logic, then Genesis shouldn't be here because of I Can't Dance.

There's some new categories in the prog archives, which should make the irritating, non-elitistic bands more acceptable!

Like QUEEN went to "progressive pop", and DEEP PURPLE to "proto prog". I think this is a right direction, and keeping these bands on this site are an enrichement. But they truly needed these new gategories. I see the definition of these genres and placing the bands under right categories as a very important issue, when keeping this site believable. Thanks to you all making it!

QUEEN. Certainly they used a lot of progressive moves on their early
albums, but that certainly doesn't make them a progressive band. As an
inventive mainstream rock band, they appropriated elements of whatever
was fashionable at the time - glam and prog in the early days, disco and
funk later on. Or if they must stay, then we should have a "classic rock"
section in which other mainstream bands with progressive elements (DEEP
PURPLE, LED ZEPPELIN et al) can be filed.

THERION I think fully justify their place - "Theli" and "Vovin" in particular
are truly progressive albums, with the classical and symphonic elements
built-in, not just bolted-on.

NIGHTWISH is a highly marginal case. Their first two or three albums
qualify at a push, but they increasingly moved towards more mainstream
power metal. "Once", in contrast to THERION, is an album where the
progressive elements are definitely bolted-on, to add some variety to the
album.
