I just use an electric razor. I never let my beard grow out, maybe someday.

Hack it down with a cheap electric, then use gel. Makes it a lot easier.

I do teh ekletrick razer.
Though I only shave like once every couple of weeks, because I hate doing it. My facial hair grows quickly too. So I go like 4 days a month being clean-shaven, the rest being [various]. Gel takes toooooo looooooooooooooong. No time for it. I'd rather sit here and lurk/post in important threads like this. |

Yeah, when I go about it, once or twice a month, I cut the long beard with the buzzing machine. Then when it's possible to go razoring, I spread foam on it and scratch it all off. Then aftershave. I couldn't shave all the time, my skin gets so irritated by the scratching, and I've yet to find a good enough machine that doesn't hurt and make my skin turn red and spotty. So I just use the trimmer. But shaving's always worth it. Beard gets you older women and gets you into bars, but the smooth jaw is what the girlfriend likes the best, even though se refuses to admit it.

Sorry guys, but that reminds me too much of 'American Psycho's Patrick Bateman: "Before shaving, I always press a hot towel against my face for two minutes to soften abrasive beard hair. Then I slather on a moisturizer and let it soak in for a minute. You can rinse it off or keep it on and apply shaving cream over it -- preferably with a brush, which softens the beard as it lifts the whiskers, making hair removal easier. Rinse the razor and shake off any excess water before starting. Afterwards splash cool water on the face to remove any trace of lather. You should use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol. Never, ever use cologne on your face since the alcohol content will dry your skin out and make you look older. Applying a moisturizer is the final step. If the face seems dry and flaky -- which can make it look dull and older -- use a clarifying lotion that removes flakes and uncovers fine skin. Then apply anti-aging eye balm. Then have a poo" Edited by Jim Garten - September 03 2008 at 08:05 |

I use Barbasol and a Quatro. I have to shave or I don't get none from the missus. It's the rule.
