The first Pope from the Americas period, I believe.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

The first Jesuit ever elected Pope also.

He's a very humble man who resigned to the honors of any Archbishop and lives in a humble home, doesn't use car and travels in bus.

He's not a Liberation theologyst but always lived for the poor.

Great election.

I don't know, though, how a humble man can excel in the role of the 'Vicar of Jesus Christ'.

Look at history and search for John XXIII.

A Parrish priest who was elected as transitional Pope because they believed he could be easily manipulated, but he is responsible for the modernization of the Church with Vatican II Council, who nobody wanted and now is considered the best thing that could happen to the Church..

He was a very humble man

"The Vicar of Jesus Christ" shouldn't be contradictory to a humble man.

Easter was named after Eostre (a.k.a. Eastre). She was the Great Mother Goddess of the Saxon people in Northern Europe. Similarly, the "Teutonic dawn goddess of fertility [was] known variously as Ostare, Ostara, Ostern, Eostra, Eostre, Eostur, Eastra, Eastur, Austron and Ausos." Her name was derived from the ancient word for spring: "eastre."

Im a bit of a cheat, my vacation starts in 20 min, may Eostre bring us a rich and fruitfull spring.
Whereever you are may your God(s) be with you.

Happy Easter

Not news really but a NYT blog entry that was moving, on the topic of caregiving.  I think it can be helpful to read about other's experiences on this topic, before during and after it occurs.

What is up with the news announcer?  She sounds like she's half asleep.
