Not a big deal. It's just NCCW. Not radioactive. The stuff goes right back from whence it came anyway, a little warmer for wear. Real story is that the plant got old and nobody wanted to do PM. That's business for you. |

Last week the Ecuadorian ambassador had a fight with a Peruvian woman in a Super Market in Lima..
Everything seemed calm, but his niece (Who doesn't have diplomatic immunity) started to fight with the woman's daughter, and the ambassador kicked the Peruvian woman (IN OUR COUNTRY), the police defended the ambassador and took him to his embassy. There are several witness who assure that the Ecuadorian ambassador said that because of this indians, Perú didn't advanced. If this is true, the guy is a fu..ing racist, but the funny thing is that he's not precisely an aryan. The woman is not a native Peruvian, but even if she was...THIS IS HER COUNTRY AND RACISM IS REPULSIVE. Perú asked Ecuador to consider the retire the ambassador, but Correa (Ecuador "President") said NO, that the ambassador hadn't attacked the woman and he won't retire the diplomatic from Perú, that this was false. The ambassador also said that he hadn't kicked the woman (The district security videos vanished as magic), but he didn't counted with the store video, where the guy in dark suit (The ambassador), kicks the Peruvian woman. So Perú asked the immediate removal of the ambassador and called Peruvian ambassador in Ecuador BACK to Perú for consultation. Today President Correa has admitted tha this ambassador kicked the woman, but that he was defending himself and said that if Perú doesn't accept this guy back, the Peruvian Ambassador won't return to Ecuador. I read that there's a cell phone video that is about to appear (for the right price I guess) and would make things worst for this coward. Seems that tension is rising in this part of the world Iván Edited by Ivan_Melgar_M - May 05 2013 at 00:17 |

It's incredibly embarrasing. But it's to be expected of the garbage people that work for Correa, who is Ecuador's president (without the " " Ivan, even though I mostly detest him). The most disgusting this is trying to defend or justify this scumbag. By the way, even if he hadn't say anything racist, hitting a woman is bad enough.
Correa is like en Emperor. He also has an incredibly high approval rate. And his disgusting people think they're justfied to do whatever they want just as his boss think he is. |

Hi T, I placed the braces, because despite the 2008 Constitution only allows one re-election, he was re-elected twice, just as Fujimori did in Perú. I agree with you, this Chavez oriented Presidents are a tragedy for this part of the world. It's a pity that the good relations between Perú and Ecuador have to suffer, for this abusive racist and woman beater. Any President would had retired the ambassador without having to be asked, that's how diplomacy works. Iván

PS: Beating women is very popular among friends of Venezuela dictatorship.
This is Corina Machado, Venezuelan Congresswoman, hitted by the people of Maduro for being in the opposition This people are all the same, sad for respectable Ecuadorians and Venezuelans who have to suffer this Iván

Leftist populism is the scourge of our lands. When it is finally defeated one day, we will see how they leave countries like mine or Venezuela, with some improvements in some areas, with a lot of handouts for the very poorest, but with incalculable corruption and economies that won't be able to sustain how money has been literally thrown away and spent crazily during these years.
Correa is smarter than the Chavez and Maduros. He hasn't destroyed the productive classes and has somewhat restrained himself from going purely economically socialistic. Sadly, his ego is big and his disgusting idea of power has made him intolerant with the press and freedom of expression. And, on the other hand, extremely tolerant with his minions. He will defend any of them if only because he can't just accept anybody chosen by his almighty wisdom could ever be wrong. |

I don't know much about Maduros, but Chavez was almost a genius (no irony intended). He took a promising, well-positioned country with viable middle class and the potential to become the Norway or the Brunei of the Americas, and in a couple of years turned it into into what looks like a malfunctioning populist anti-utopia with daily shortages (even ENERGY shortages!), class warfare and no clear direction. You have to be a brilliant politician in order to do that to your people, and to continue sailing through elections like nothing happened (or rigging the elections so cleverly). Chavez was not a genius, he had charisma and talked the language people wanted to listen. He could insult anybody, but you always laughed with him, Maduro is a moron and has the same charisma than a brick. But Maduro is an ignorant, with absolutely no education or culture that has turned Venezuela into a country apparently democratic into a chaos, where you can be hit or even killed if you dare to say you didn't voted for Maduro. A country where Congressmen can't speak in the congress and won't be paid until they accept Maduro in a public ceremony, he's a stupid moron who won't last, because a civil war could break. Now, Correa is an intelligent guy, this is the first mistake he has made, you can't support a guy who hits women, and worst break relations with a neighbor country with a Nationalist President who is a natural ally, to protect a jerk who insults people for racial issues. Nice to see three missing women found alive and healthy in Cleveland. I wouldn't wish what they went through on anyone, but at least it gives some hope to families of other kids that have gone missing that there is a chance that they could be still alive somewhere.

I'm glad they are fee of course, but I'm baffled at how on Earth could these girls not call the attention of the outside world in 10 years, the house was not isolated in the middle of nowhere, how is it possible that nobody in the neighbourhood felt something strange was going on?? same as with the Austrian guy a couple of years ago. How on Earth can a human being do that and carry on living as if nothing, this is a wicked world....

Another two recent news from the US which are rather baffling for many of us in the old continent:
1. the 5 year old Kentucky boy who accidentally killed her 2 year old sister with a rifle specially built for children. 2. the guys who have built a working gun using a 3D printer, which among other concerns such as the fact that shortly anybody will be able to build his own gun at home without any control (they plan to publish the blueprints on the net), is made of plastic so could fool security checks. Man, about the 2nd one I admire the technological feat aspect of 3D printing and the possibilities it may open for the future, but this obsession some US people have with guns is so hard to understand for many of us (no offence to US citizens in general).
