Anglagard did an outstanding cover of The Musical Box in Progfest 94 and a band from Israel called Eggroll did a good version of Supper's Ready (Starting in Willow's Farm), the music is outstanding but the vocals are not the best even when the vocalist is good, but not for this song in particular. Had the luck to see a video from Anglagard and a friend from Israel sent me the Eggroll DVD with excellent cover bersions of Thick as a Brick and Starless. About the Genesis Tribute, I bought it on www.Amazon.com but you better find a cheaper place. Iván

Cool, but I meant do a studio version of TMB or SR. Yeah, that tribute is a little expensive, but is it worth it? (meaning, is it good or not?)

I think it's just fine. Of course it's not going to match how well Genesis did it, but I like how it just sounds a little different. If it didn't, why waste time and listen to it if you could just listen to the real thing?

"Straightforward" is an euphemism... ...i wonder why they did such a cover, it doesn't add anything to the original version. They didn't revisit it or re-interpretate it or desacrate it or anything else, they play it as it is in the original version, just like a group of Genesis fans would do in a garage sunday afternoon ! Anyway, thank you Man Overboard i had no idea there's people doing things like that... in a way you expanded my horizon

you forgot fonya - los endos/hairless heart, VERY new age oriented! the cinema show version is interesting, although not as quintessential and complex as the original one Edited by greenback |

I believe you have a mistaken album or a later edition Greenback, because Fonya isn't in "The River of Constant Change", souble checked the list (The one above is from Amazon) with my album and Hairless Heart is perfrmed by Mysia. Maybe on another tribute, there are lots of. Iván |

Has anybody here ever seen the Canadian Genesis tribute band The
Musical Box in concert? I've downloaded a snippet of their version of
Supper's Ready from their website and it seems they got it real damn
close to right! FYI, if you don't know about The Musical Box,
their whole concept was to virtually recreate Genesis concerts from the
early 70s, complete with costuming, backdrops, instrumentation,
everything... I want them to come to Atlanta, Georgia, because I
missed them the last time.

ivan, the los endos/hairless heart played by fonya (chris fournier) is on the in flux album, and it is effectively not on the river of constant change list; and it is very impressive, if you like new age keyboards obviously! Edited by greenback |
